It still has my attention, but honestly, it is feeling a little "season three" for me - it seems to meander more than I would like. The fight scenes are already getting old. I imagine my expectations, as a LOSTie, are higher than the average viewer.
I really admire the flawed nature of the characters and the acting has been strong. The casting is excellent, though seeing <strike>Jacob</strike> Jeremy as a bad guy was shocking. Admittedly, the most difficult part was NOT being able to discuss it with my husband, as my kids are only part way through season five of LOST!
Thoughts?PJSanderhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00852335669754424773noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6868368919707352645.post-74664348808249169292012-09-29T09:48:00.001-04:002012-09-29T09:48:12.675-04:00The Evolution of RevolutionEpisode two mirrored the first pretty closely. A little trekking, a little mystery, a lot of combat, a hint of terror. <strike>Juliet</strike> Rachel IS still alive. What do you think?PJSanderhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00852335669754424773noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6868368919707352645.post-76346539393804204122012-09-18T00:43:00.000-04:002012-09-18T00:43:59.428-04:00REVOLUTION: Yah or nah?NBC aired the pilot of JJ Abrams' latest foray, Revolution. There were some definite shout outs to LOST lovers, not the least of which was the lovely Elizabeth Mitchell. There was also a hatch-like computer, an airplane graveyard (was anyone else looking for an Oceanic or Ajira logo?), smoke-monster sounds when the lights first went out, and the area inside The Grand looked very similar to the area beneath the Temple (complete with a fire pit and columns).
<br><br>
Casting is great and the story is definitely interesting so far (though admittedly, I would have liked to see more of the trek to Chicago). My personal thought is that <strike>Juliet</strike> Rachel isn't really dead. It seemed like Elizabeth Mitchell was made to look younger, which would not have been necessary if they were only using her in flashback.
What do YOU think?

I enjoyed it, though am not completely sold. I am certainly willing to invest hours into a drama with such a pedigree behind it. (Of course, I said the same thing about a comedy with "Mr. Sunshine" -- come on! Allison Janney! Matthew Perry! Look where that got me - with a half dozen hours of my life that I won't get back. I think that our little island will remain, and maybe with JJ's new show, we'll have more to talk about - only instead of Hawaii (or actually an unnamed remote island only accessible through a snow globe bubble on exactly the right coordinates), it will be Alcatraz Island in San Francisco!PJSanderhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00852335669754424773noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6868368919707352645.post-27012540552662103832011-01-05T10:43:00.002-05:002011-01-05T10:46:29.536-05:00Lotto Win!Woah. This Dennis Quaid / Jim Caviezel sci-fi movie came out in 2000, and although I didn't start at the beginning, I found it enjoyable. At any rate, the lovely Elizabeth Mitchell co-starred (as a dark-haired nurse / wife of Dennis Quaid's character). For those who haven't seen it, and might care to, I won't spoil the plot, but let's just say Elizabeth's character has scenes with a character called... Jack Shepard!PJSanderhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00852335669754424773noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6868368919707352645.post-57011236429285185272010-12-09T10:23:00.002-05:002010-12-09T10:29:52.139-05:00LOST Stars in Random RolesI've seen several former LOSTies appearing as guest stars in other programs. I try not to have expectations, because it eases up on the potential disappointment. Last night, I saw Henry Ian Cusick on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and despite having NO expectations, I was a bit disappointed.<br /><br />Thankfully, it was not in the acting; Ian performed brilliantly. The storyline was frighteningly predictable (as many L&O episodes can be) and I figured the plot twist within the first five minutes after the credits. Additionally, I would have liked a bit of a LOST shoutout (as Jorge Garcia's character did during his appearance in "How I Met Your Mother" recently). I guess not all television writers understand the LOST fan's zeal.PJSanderhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00852335669754424773noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6868368919707352645.post-56510895620791333842010-11-22T08:19:00.005-05:002010-11-22T08:50:51.030-05:00LOSTie Alert! How did I miss this? We have it on TiVo, just haven't had a chance to try it yet.<br /><br />Last night, I was flipping around and came across an episode of "Without a Trace" in which Jacob was holding Keamy hostage. Of course, I had to watch the rest of the episode, even though I really didn't know what was going on. What is funny is that it seemed familiar to me, so I may have done the same thing several years ago - although at the time, I only recognized Kevin Durand, because Mark Pellegrino had not yet appeared on LOST. <br /><br />More randomness: when I went to IMDB to look up how to spell Mark Pellegrino's name, I discovered that he only appeared in SIX episodes. Sounds crazy, right? I would have guessed it was a lot more. Other six episoders: Anthony Cooper, Roger Linus, Carmen Reyes (all main characters' parents), Zach, Emma and a character named Jason, whom I did not recognize. Looking at LOSTpedia, I see that the actor (Ariston Green) appeared six times, but not always as the same character. I think the IMDB data entry people were getting lazy!PJSanderhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00852335669754424773noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6868368919707352645.post-84929957836701152062010-09-27T10:04:00.002-04:002010-09-27T10:07:07.635-04:00The End - The Post LOST WatchWow. That same day, a collection of strangers witnessed the beginning of what would become the most compelling and well written show on television. Are you catching up? Commenting on the blog? Have you given up? (It kind of feels like it!)<br /><br />I have to wait until my birthday to get the full series on DVD. I am Netflixing season six in the mean time. Got disk five, because I *had* to see the extras on it. Now I am waiting for disk one so I can start over.<br /><br />In the meantime, next on the list is The Last Recruit. How will our opinion of the episode change as we see it again?<br /><br />On a different note, I am completely and utterly devastated that LOST was shut out at the Emmys AGAIN. At least there were nominations, but with the exception of some of the Schmemmys (Kathy Griffin's word for the Creative Arts Emmys) where some Emmys might have been awarded to LOST (and I don't know), it was a complete failure. I mean, I know Mad Men is a great show and everything, but to overlook Emerson and O'Quinn (maybe they sort of canceled each other out?) and the series as well? Oh mylanta. (It doesn't help that Glee, my other favorite show, was passed over by the most part - except for the much-deserving Jane Lynch!)<br /><br />The one bright light of the Emmys was Jorge's participation in the opening sequence. FanTABulous!PJSanderhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00852335669754424773noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6868368919707352645.post-58655595214576848412010-08-23T10:18:00.002-04:002010-08-23T10:22:47.246-04:00Everybody Loves Hugo - The Post LOST WatchI do love me some Hurley! How will this episode be more meaningful now that we know the outcome?<br /><br />The big news of the week, of course, is the season 6 (and full series set) DVDs dropping tomorrow! <br /><br />Also, the LOST "Profiles in History" auction was this weekend. Big ticket items include the Pilot script, signed by JJ and Damon ($15,000), Hurley's Camaro ($20,000), a DHARMA van ($45,000) and Faraday's journal ($27,500).
