Will MIB be Next?
I watched episode three. It still has my attention, but honestly, it is feeling a little "season three" for me - it seems to meander more than I would like. The fight scenes are already getting old. I imagine my expectations, as a LOSTie, are higher than the average viewer.
I really admire the flawed nature of the characters and the acting has been strong. The casting is excellent, though seeing Jacob Jeremy as a bad guy was shocking. Admittedly, the most difficult part was NOT being able to discuss it with my husband, as my kids are only part way through season five of LOST!
Thoughts?

The Evolution of Revolution
Episode two mirrored the first pretty closely. A little trekking, a little mystery, a lot of combat, a hint of terror. Juliet Rachel IS still alive. What do you think?

REVOLUTION: Yah or nah?
NBC aired the pilot of JJ Abrams' latest foray, Revolution. There were some definite shout outs to LOST lovers, not the least of which was the lovely Elizabeth Mitchell. There was also a hatch-like computer, an airplane graveyard (was anyone else looking for an Oceanic or Ajira logo?), smoke-monster sounds when the lights first went out, and the area inside The Grand looked very similar to the area beneath the Temple (complete with a fire pit and columns).
Casting is great and the story is definitely interesting so far (though admittedly, I would have liked to see more of the trek to Chicago). My personal thought is thatJuliet Rachel isn't really dead. It seemed like Elizabeth Mitchell was made to look younger, which would not have been necessary if they were only using her in flashback.

ONCE UPON A TIME - Smash Hit?
Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, two of the head writers for LOST, have created a new show for ABC, called "Once Upon a Time" which premiered this week. I enjoyed it, though am not completely sold. I am certainly willing to invest hours into a drama with such a pedigree behind it. (Of course, I said the same thing about a comedy with "Mr. Sunshine" -- come on! Allison Janney! Matthew Perry! Look where that got me - with a half dozen hours of my life that I won't get back. LOL)
Here is a bit of background, if you are interested. http://tvmusingsandthoughts.wordpress.com/2011/10/23/edward-kitsis-and-adam-horowitz-preview-once-upon-a-time/
What I particularly enjoyed, were the nods to LOST fans, including black smoke, a close up of an eye, apartment 108 and the clock being stuck on 8:15. Did you see others? What did I miss?

RIP
One year ago today, we were mourning the loss of Sun and Jin in the epic underwater death. Breathe in. Breathe out.
I miss LOST.
Oddly enough, I am not ready to go back. Maybe this summer. I plan to watch from the beginning with my kids who are old enough now to appreciate it.
I miss LOST so much.

Spain anyone?
Oh wow. Anyone up for a trip to a very special bar in Barcelona?
Some updates on our LOSTies new adventures. I read in Entertainment Weekly that the project "Odd Jobs" with O'Quinn might not be because Emerson has been cast in another JJA show. Hmmm.

Moving the Island Again
I realized tonight that it is wonderfully ironic that Jorge Garcia's next full time gig is on a show called Alcatraz. I think that our little island will remain, and maybe with JJ's new show, we'll have more to talk about - only instead of Hawaii (or actually an unnamed remote island only accessible through a snow globe bubble on exactly the right coordinates), it will be Alcatraz Island in San Francisco!

Lotto Win!
Woah. I wonder how many LOST fans did well in the Mega Millions last night? The winning numbers were 4, 8, 15, 25 and 47, with 42 being the "Mega ball" number. Of course, the prize for three numbers plus the yellow ball is only $150, but STILL.

LOST Connections
I know that posts would get pretty boring and repetitive if I listed every old episode of a television show where I saw a LOSTie as a guest star, but I think this one is worth mentioning.
This weekend, I happened to catch Frequency on television. This Dennis Quaid / Jim Caviezel sci-fi movie came out in 2000, and although I didn't start at the beginning, I found it enjoyable. At any rate, the lovely Elizabeth Mitchell co-starred (as a dark-haired nurse / wife of Dennis Quaid's character). For those who haven't seen it, and might care to, I won't spoil the plot, but let's just say Elizabeth's character has scenes with a character called... Jack Shepard!

LOST Stars in Random Roles
I've seen several former LOSTies appearing as guest stars in other programs. I try not to have expectations, because it eases up on the potential disappointment. Last night, I saw Henry Ian Cusick on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and despite having NO expectations, I was a bit disappointed.
Thankfully, it was not in the acting; Ian performed brilliantly. The storyline was frighteningly predictable (as many L&O episodes can be) and I figured the plot twist within the first five minutes after the credits. Additionally, I would have liked a bit of a LOST shoutout (as Jorge Garcia's character did during his appearance in "How I Met Your Mother" recently). I guess not all television writers understand the LOST fan's zeal.

LOSTie Alert!
How did I miss this? Michael Emerson and Terry O'Quinn are to star TOGETHER in a JJ Abrams pilot! This was announced on September 22nd (note the irony). How did I not find out about this until today? The show is currently called "Odd Jobs" and it is rumored that Emerson and O'Quinn will portray former undercover operatives.

Jorge Garcia, who will appear in "How I Met Your Mother" tonight, has also landed a starring role in a JJ Abrams production, "Alcatraz" set, oddly enough, NOT in Alcatraz.

Daniel Dae Kim - Hawaii 50
Jorge Garcia - Alcatraz
Terry O'Quinn - Odd Jobs
Michael Emerson - Odd Jobs
Elizabeth Mitchell - has a movie in the works Answers to Nothing, which looks promising.
Dominic Monaghan - has two movies in post production: Soldiers of Fortune and The Day.
Evangeline Lilly - a movie is in the production: Real Steel with another LOSTie, Kevin Durand. Looks like a real winner (since you can't hear the sarcasm in my font, I refer you to this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0433035)
Naveen Andrews - movie Hullo with no release date.
Josh Holloway - has a role in Mission Impossible 4 to be released in December 2011.
Henry Ian Cusick - nothing since two episodes of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (which coincidentally aired on September 22)
Matthew Fox and Emilie de Ravin - the LOST siblings don't have anything in the works (according to IMDB)

The Event - And Recent Randomness
For those watching "The Event" - feel free to post here. We have it on TiVo, just haven't had a chance to try it yet.
Last night, I was flipping around and came across an episode of "Without a Trace" in which Jacob was holding Keamy hostage. Of course, I had to watch the rest of the episode, even though I really didn't know what was going on. What is funny is that it seemed familiar to me, so I may have done the same thing several years ago - although at the time, I only recognized Kevin Durand, because Mark Pellegrino had not yet appeared on LOST.
More randomness: when I went to IMDB to look up how to spell Mark Pellegrino's name, I discovered that he only appeared in SIX episodes. Sounds crazy, right? I would have guessed it was a lot more. Other six episoders: Anthony Cooper, Roger Linus, Carmen Reyes (all main characters' parents), Zach, Emma and a character named Jason, whom I did not recognize. Looking at LOSTpedia, I see that the actor (Ariston Green) appeared six times, but not always as the same character. I think the IMDB data entry people were getting lazy!

The End - The Post LOST Watch
Wow. Can you even believe we've already rewatched the entire sixth season? Post your thoughts on the series finale.
I guess this is "the end" of life on our little island. Sad. I hope you'll still check in and say hello every now and again.

A Moment of Silence
It was on this day, six years ago, that Oceanic Flight 815 broke up in mid air and crashed, leaving the passengers (who did not perish) in perpetual peril. That same day, a collection of strangers witnessed the beginning of what would become the most compelling and well written show on television. Over the following six years (and 120+ hours of television brilliance), those strangers became friends; friends who discussed character development, celebrated character's triumphs, delighted in plot twists, and debated a variety of theories, from the plausible to the outrageous.
On this day in 2004, we all got LOST.
