I know that posts would get pretty boring and repetitive if I listed every old episode of a television show where I saw a LOSTie as a guest star, but I think this one is worth mentioning.
This weekend, I happened to catch Frequency on television. This Dennis Quaid / Jim Caviezel sci-fi movie came out in 2000, and although I didn't start at the beginning, I found it enjoyable. At any rate, the lovely Elizabeth Mitchell co-starred (as a dark-haired nurse / wife of Dennis Quaid's character). For those who haven't seen it, and might care to, I won't spoil the plot, but let's just say Elizabeth's character has scenes with a character called... Jack Shepard!

LOST Stars in Random Roles
I've seen several former LOSTies appearing as guest stars in other programs. I try not to have expectations, because it eases up on the potential disappointment. Last night, I saw Henry Ian Cusick on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and despite having NO expectations, I was a bit disappointed.
Thankfully, it was not in the acting; Ian performed brilliantly. The storyline was frighteningly predictable (as many L&O episodes can be) and I figured the plot twist within the first five minutes after the credits. Additionally, I would have liked a bit of a LOST shoutout (as Jorge Garcia's character did during his appearance in "How I Met Your Mother" recently). I guess not all television writers understand the LOST fan's zeal.

LOSTie Alert!
How did I miss this? Michael Emerson and Terry O'Quinn are to star TOGETHER in a JJ Abrams pilot! This was announced on September 22nd (note the irony). How did I not find out about this until today? The show is currently called "Odd Jobs" and it is rumored that Emerson and O'Quinn will portray former undercover operatives.

Jorge Garcia, who will appear in "How I Met Your Mother" tonight, has also landed a starring role in a JJ Abrams production, "Alcatraz" set, oddly enough, NOT in Alcatraz.

Daniel Dae Kim - Hawaii 50
Jorge Garcia - Alcatraz
Terry O'Quinn - Odd Jobs
Michael Emerson - Odd Jobs
Elizabeth Mitchell - has a movie in the works Answers to Nothing, which looks promising.
Dominic Monaghan - has two movies in post production: Soldiers of Fortune and The Day.
Evangeline Lilly - a movie is in the production: Real Steel with another LOSTie, Kevin Durand. Looks like a real winner (since you can't hear the sarcasm in my font, I refer you to this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0433035)
Naveen Andrews - movie Hullo with no release date.
Josh Holloway - has a role in Mission Impossible 4 to be released in December 2011.
Henry Ian Cusick - nothing since two episodes of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (which coincidentally aired on September 22)
Matthew Fox and Emilie de Ravin - the LOST siblings don't have anything in the works (according to IMDB)

The Event - And Recent Randomness
For those watching "The Event" - feel free to post here. We have it on TiVo, just haven't had a chance to try it yet.
Last night, I was flipping around and came across an episode of "Without a Trace" in which Jacob was holding Keamy hostage. Of course, I had to watch the rest of the episode, even though I really didn't know what was going on. What is funny is that it seemed familiar to me, so I may have done the same thing several years ago - although at the time, I only recognized Kevin Durand, because Mark Pellegrino had not yet appeared on LOST.
More randomness: when I went to IMDB to look up how to spell Mark Pellegrino's name, I discovered that he only appeared in SIX episodes. Sounds crazy, right? I would have guessed it was a lot more. Other six episoders: Anthony Cooper, Roger Linus, Carmen Reyes (all main characters' parents), Zach, Emma and a character named Jason, whom I did not recognize. Looking at LOSTpedia, I see that the actor (Ariston Green) appeared six times, but not always as the same character. I think the IMDB data entry people were getting lazy!

Wow. Can you even believe we've already rewatched the entire sixth season? Post your thoughts on the series finale.
I guess this is "the end" of life on our little island. Sad. I hope you'll still check in and say hello every now and again.

A Moment of Silence
It was on this day, six years ago, that Oceanic Flight 815 broke up in mid air and crashed, leaving the passengers (who did not perish) in perpetual peril. That same day, a collection of strangers witnessed the beginning of what would become the most compelling and well written show on television. Over the following six years (and 120+ hours of television brilliance), those strangers became friends; friends who discussed character development, celebrated character's triumphs, delighted in plot twists, and debated a variety of theories, from the plausible to the outrageous.
On this day in 2004, we all got LOST.
