There's No Place Like Home, Parts 1, 2 and 3

The finale is only a day away... then it is seven LONG months until we get our next LOST fix. That's more than 200 days. Those are a lot of days to take one day at a time! ACK!

ABC is going to show the first hour of the season finale at 8pm, which will include additional footage of the news conference scene. Immediately following, will be the final two hours. Hopefully, we will get more answers than we do new questions!

How will we survive the seven intervening months? Weekly LAA meetings will be harder to come by while the show is off the air. Stop on by here and discuss theories and get your fix!

About the coffin Doc? I saw something too.

PJSander said...

oooh... no!

Thank you both for NOT posting the spoilers!

I have two articles from TV Guide that I tore out and tucked away - not to be read until after the finale.

Let's share all these spoilers at 11:02pm EDT tomorrow, okay?

: ) P

Hammer said...

Don't fret, we would never do that! I just wondered if DocH saw what I saw. Many of the spoilers are foilers for obvious reasons. I heard they shot 3 coffin scenes with three diff characters to throw off the spoilers....no I won't say which three!!

Oh I know, DocH and that is why I thanked you!

I have to say, I am liking having this quieter forum to share with you lot! I'll be sticking around the other place, of course, but I think that this is a nice silver lining of the lost-blog being down all weekend!

Thanks for the heads up, Doc H.

I went there and DIDN'T read the post ABOVE the comments, but got enough of the gist of it FROM the comments, that I ended up reading it.

I didn't see the footage (though I think I may have depending on the source).

I am not sure that it spoiled anything for me, but I really DO worry that something will get posted there tomorrow.

Thanks again, for the heads up.

"I did NOT post a spoiler. And you are smart to hide the TV Guide... I have no clue about what Hammer wrote."

I didn't either.....did I?

PJSander said...

Hammer wrote: I didn't either.....did I?

LOL. No Hammer, you didn't either. Which is why I thanked you BOTH. You each referenced that you had heard something possibly spoilerish, but neither said what it was.

I think we are all on pins and needles waiting for this evening. Eight hours, 37 minutes and 49 seconds until the first part re-airs. Whoo hoo!

I agree, I know I'll be coming here when the "other" place gets b(l)ogged down tomorrow.

Hammer said...

Cool beans PJ, we're gonna have fun here I think.

Hammer said...

I'm gonna check in here until the start, the old island is getting hit with preview talk. The finale is too big to get ruined. :)

I want to know if the time lines are going to collide as you speculated DocH.

I want to know about the Whisperers.

Miss Kim said...

Yikes. So much for the "no discussion of episode previews/spoilers on the Big Island. Nice summary wish list fellas. I would like to also know:

What did Sawyer ask Kate to do for him? When did he ask her?

What are the "rules" Ben was referring to when Keamy killed Alex?

????? S-M-O-K-E M-O-N-S-T-E-R ?????

What was the point of Nikki and Paolo?

Who are the "good guys"?

Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!!!!!!!!!

Miss Kim said...

The Nikki and Paolo thing may seem like a lame thing to be wondering about....they just kind of bug me because everything else on LOST seems so significant and they seem so....not. In "Ji Yeon", Nikki's show, Expose, was playing on the TV set when Sun went into labor. I wonder what's up with that?

PJSander said...

I've been out all afternoon, so I think I will avoid "the big island" for now since you say it is getting into preview talk. Thanks for the heads up.

D&C *claim* that Nikki and Paulo were part of an effort to flush out more of the background people. But you know, I don't think they do ANYTHING without a purpose. Plus, as Miss Kim pointed out, they displayed Expose on the tv, so if they wanted us to FORGET about it, they wouldn't have REMINDED us!

Same with the two little kids that were kidnapped from the beach in Season one. Juliet mentioned them this season. If we were supposed to forget they existed, they wouldn't keep dropping hints.

Six minutes to go... I am going to make sure the tv works! LOL

: ) P

PJSander said...

Now we know who the three that "died" are and how the lie claims that they did! Answers already!

: ) P

Miss Kim said...

I know there was speculation about the money Sun used and what exactly constituted a controlling share. I'm not sure what international banking insurance guidelines are like....that could be a factor in why there were five different banks involved....though I am more inclined to think that there may be other reasons as previously mentioned by others.

PJSander said...

Captain Eyeliner to the rescue!

SO awesome! Everyone else enjoying it?

Here's a real laugher from the big island....unbelievable...I was part of said heated discussions.

Newbie? Maybe if you read this blog since before the transition of ownership, you would remember the heated discussions of the readership on whether previews should be discusses in entries (this was back when there were actual posts that discussed past episodes, lengthy, intelligent responses to theories, and actual discussions about these very previews. SO, for all of you newbies who haven’t been here long enough to remember such events on this blog, should think about how much better it can be, because this blog at one point was the destination for true theory banter.

PJSander said...

Wow. Sounds like Austin is wound pretty tight. I have a feeling I will have a LOT of reading to catch up on once I finally venture to the big island.

: ) P

Hammer said...

Thanks again PJ, the big island is already having server problems.

I'll start referring to you as Jacob. :)

Hammer said...

This so far is incredible ay?

PJSander said...

At some point, on the big island, someone thought that Sun and Aaron were rescued from the water when the boat went boom. That theory is looking pretty probable right now!

Holy CRAP this is a good episode!

: ) P

Miss Kim said...

Well....I guess we know when Sawyer asked Kate to do something for him.

PJSander said...

*THAT* was Sawyer's "choosing" to stay? Boy, I hope that isn't what Jack was referring to. Because that was the most heroic thing anyone has ever done (at least that I can remember, feel free to remind me of other heroic acts) on this show.

Only one more hour, then seven MONTHS.

: ) P

Miss Kim said...

So far I think tht this is well done. Answering questions as it goes....

Hammer said...

When Sawyer took a bullet for Walt.

When Kate jumped back into the cage for Sawyer.

When Jack held Ben's life hostage for Sawyer and Kate.

Hammer said...

The whisperers are showing themselve to Hugo?

Miss Kim said...

Holy Explosion, Batman.

PJSander said...

Hammer said: When Sawyer took a bullet for Walt.

Thanks, Hammer.

Freekin amazing, right?

: ) P

Hammer said...

Now Micheal sees the whisperers...

Miss Kim said...

Did Hurley's chess piece chaange from black to white when he beat Mr. Eko? Or was I seeing things?

PJSander said...

Miss Kim wrote: Did Hurley's chess piece chaange from black to white when he beat Mr. Eko? Or was I seeing things?

I didn't notice, sorry. But we can go back and look in a little while!

Was the person in the car outside Santa Rosa significant? I didn't see him until after Sayid shot him.

: ) P

Hammer said...

Maybe I'm just on a Lost high, but this really is amazing. How are they going to keep this momentum next season?

Miss Kim said...

So....Jeremy's in the coffin. Of course. That makes perfect sense. Not.

Hammer said...

I didn't recog. the car in the car. I guess he's just a Widmore monitor.

Miss Kim said...

An alias for someone who got off the Island? Who's left? Ben, Locke,Desmond??????

PJSander said...

Okay, why didn't they bail out of the helicopter BEFORE it hit the water?

Still... freekin amazing!

: ) P

Hammer said...

Miss Kim said...

May 29, 2008 10:23 PM

I'm thinking Jeremy is an alias for another passenger that gets off the island. They would have to have an alias because Sayid said no chance of other surviors.

PJSander said...

Miss Kim wrote: So....Jeremy's in the coffin. Of course. That makes perfect sense. Not.

LOL.

They keep saying Bentham, like they want us to think it is Ben.

By answering all of the questions that this episode brought up?

Hammer said...

You're right Miss Kim

Two spectacular kisses ay?

Miss Kim said...

Sawyer/Kate kiss MUCH better than the Desmond/Penny kiss. IMO.

Hammer said...

Sun is the economist?

PJSander said...

PENNY!

I don't want it to be over!

: ) P

PJSander said...

Sun definitely has some power... but since Sayid is supposed to kill the Economist, I sure hope not.

I can't believe there is only one more set of scenes to go.

: ) P

Miss Kim said...

Everyone needs to go back....including the dead body of John Locke. Kind of like Christian's dead body?

PJSander said...

Wow.

I have to say that not a single second disappointed me.

It will take some time to digest.

But, WOW.

: ) P

Miss Kim said...

Ditto, PJ. It will take some time to digest. Thanks again for the little island. I enjoyed having some company for the big finale.

Hammer said...

Yeah Miss Kim, CS seems to have needed to get to the island and Jack seems like he was supposed to stay as well. I go back to thinking many of the passengers were "steered" to the island. Locke needs to get back as we know he's special to the island. Now we have to find out what happened to get Locke to leave the island looking for help.

Miss Kim said...

Yup, Hammer. Figuring out why Locke left the Island is a good place to start. Maybe he moved the Island....Ben said the person who moves the Island has to leave the Island and can't go back. Maybe if you're dead you could go back. Maybe Locke left for other reasons. See----lots more questions! I think that there will be plenty of momentum for next season and the rest of the story! Even though many things fell into place, there are so many more missing pieces.

PJSander said...

Oh, and I guess that "frozen donkey wheel" was a REAL thing, not just an esoteric term. The moving the island thing was pretty cool - but I wish there were some "realistic" explanation for it - and I kind of doubt there will be!

: ) P

PJSander said...

Okay, I thought of something that bothered me a LITTLE bit during the episode (until now, I wasn't disappointed by a single second).

What did they feed poor Aaron the whole time they were on that raft? You can tell adults to get over being hungry, but not an infant! I know it is nitpicky, but it did bother me!

On the big island, there was a discussion about little things that make it real... this episode was Hurley zipping up. I giggled at that one.

Also got goosebumps when Penny and Desmond first caught sight of each other.

: ) P

Hammer said...

DocH must be passed out from a Lost o.d. :)

Miss Kim said...

PJ-Sadly, we may never get an official description of what the Frozen Donkey Wheel was and how it moved the Island.....but I'm sure you, hammer, and doch will have some pretty amazing quantum physics type ideas to dazzle us with....casimir effect, wormholes, entropy, Hawking radiation, thermodynamics, vile vortices, lost civilizations.....all the cool stuff.....

Hammer said...

IDK Miss Kim, they almost MUST explain what happens when the sky turns purple.

Miss Kim said...

I know Hammer, I know. But--there's 2 kinds of LOST viewers. Those that are content to have the sky turn purple and the Island get moved and will just accept it at face value. Then there's us. The people that expect a logical scientific explanation. The brilliance of this show is that at the end of the day, those who blindly accept, accept. Those who don't theorize, google, listen to those that can explain, and learn. I'm not saying that one kind of viewer is better than the other. IMO it's just really cool how appealing LOST is to the diverse masses.

Hammer said...

Spot on Miss Kim.

PJSander said...

So far it is surprisingly easy to get onto the big island tonight! Maybe they added bandwidth or one of those other techie things *G*.

: ) P

Hammer said...

Yeah I'm suprised too 'cause I got booted a couple of times during the show.

Miss Kim said...

I can't seem to get anything past comment #54 on the Big Island on the TNPLH part2 post. However, when revisiting Hammer's Whisperers Theory I was able to see tonight's additional comment, ala Hammer.
Hammer said:Here’s my newest thought. Alpert is a whisperer as are most if not all of the group at the temple. Explains why he doesn’t age and Ben’s comment to Alpert about remembering birthdays?
**********************************
Yes. But how do they know what they're whispering about? And why are they all so needy for a leader? Especially a leader who has no clue what to do at the moment? I like that Alpert and the rest of the gang are the whisperers.....still don't know for sure if they're the good guys or the bad guys.

Miss Kim said...

Maybe Austin figured out a way to keep me off the Big Island because I told him if he doesn’t wanna play by the rules he should go and find himself another sandbox.

Hammer said...

Miss Kim, it seems that Alpert's group may not be "natives" of the island as much as permanent inhabitants, like "dead but here".

Miss Kim said...

"Dead but here". Hmmmmm. But yet they were actively making shelters and gathering food...why do that if they are "dead but here"? And why not just attack Keamy's group head on if they are kind of already dead. Why go to the Temple-the safest part of the Island? It's supposedly not purgatory....I'm not trying to debunk as much as I am trying to justify your theory. (which I like)

Hammer said...

Miss Kim, I am taking huge liberties with the mythology. Maybe they died in one time line but are alive in another and CAN show themselves in a timeline that they would be dead in they might be "living" their lives like normal. I am trapped waiting to see what the whispers are all about. They made 3 appearance today, so the show is gonna get to this IMO.

BTW, debunking is fine with me. I need smart thinkers to try my ideas.

Miss Kim said...

I read the whispers transcripts for my bedtime story. I'll be reflecting on them as I fall asleep....sweet dreams y'all.

Word of the day: bittersweet
(as in "Tonight's season finale of LOST was bittersweet.") What are we to until Season 5, Episode 1?

PJSander said...

Good night, friends.

PJSander said...

Hey!

DocH deleted all of his posts!

I know he sort of "signed off" from the other island, but I was hoping he was going to stick around here.
