90 Days Out
If we were on the island...

Hurley, Desmond, Charlie and Jin came back from their camping adventure. They were all acting really odd and we finally found out why! A helicopter pilot called Naomi parachuted into the jungle! She was hurt in the crash, but says she was sent by Penny Widmore, Desmond's long lost love! We were so excited! She had a satellite phone but something jamming the signal, so Jack said we were all going to hike up to the radio tower to see if that would help.

Then Juliet told us that there was an underwater station, called the Looking Glass, where Ben was intentionally jamming the signal. Desmond and Charlie volunteered to go down and turn off the jamming device.

Juliet also told Jack that the Others were coming in a few days to kidnap the pregnant women! Rousseau brought dynamite from an old ship called The Black Rock and we were going to set up an ambush to blow up the others. But then Karl, an Other whom Sawyer knew from when he was held captive, came in a boat to warn us that the Others were coming that night! So while the rest of us were hiking up to the radio tower, Sayid, Jin and Bernard were going to stay behind to ambush the Others.

It was a long, long hike up to the tower. Some of the other 815'ers go trekking through the jungle all the time, so they were up for the challenge. I don't know how I kept up, it was tiring. When it got dark, we heard two explosions from the beach. But there were supposed to be THREE! What if it didn't work? What if something happened to Jin, Bernard and Sayid? Poor Sun. Poor Rose. I am so tired of being SCARED all the time!

To recap the comments from the last section - we're mulling over Julie's idea of there being two smoke monsters. Also, both Julie and L4E gave acceptable answers to the last trivia question, so the first one to return will ask the next one!

: ) P

Hammer said...

I like the thinking of two Smokeys, but I don't think it's the case. I think that the "orginal others" that made the fence are not natives of the island. I think the natives of the island are the true others and they learned to contol Smokey using their tunnel sytems of which we have only seen very little. The "orginal others" are Dharma who grew to fear Smokey and needed a barrier to keep him at bay. Side bet: Capt. Eyeliner has four toes per foot.

I found a black and white block grid in the new video on DMY doing the point and click trick. I did a screenprint and saved it in a word document. How can I get it to you guys to look at?

PJSander said...

Hmmm, Hammer, good question. Can you save it as a pdf and then upload it to your profile?

: ) P

PJSander said...

Julie asked her question on the old thread, so I will put it here:

Okay here's a question for you. Not a very hard one...
In the artic listening station, what is the numerical equivilent given to the electromagnetic occurance?

: ) P

lost4ever said...

I agree with Hammer. I don't think the fence was built by Richard and his band of merry people. The fence was built by Dharma. I think there is something to the 2 smokeys theory. But I think they are one and the same. When Locke first saw it ( S1E4 on Sci-fi last night) he saw something different than Eko. I thought he said it was white or something to that affect.
D and C stated that they want the audience to learn something new about smokey everytime they showed it. Maybe that is why they don't show glimpses of poeple's lives as Eko saw his.

Time to give this Fringe another try.

In watching Fringe tonight I realized two things. 1) JJ has a thing for strong women w/ freckles. 2) He also has a fondness for people with missing hands. LOL!
Dr Wickmund (and all his other names), the PR face for the globo-company in Fringe. Hands floating in jars of fluid... lol.
I'm digging Fringe but its still not Lost. :(
PJ, thanks for letting me know about the new thread. I have the other one saved in my favorites at the office... I would have kept posting and feeling completely unloved when no one responded. LOL!

lost4ever said...

Very impressed by Fringe tonight. Excellent follow-up tp a so-so pilot.

lost4ever said...

Test 5 is up at DWY. I love Math tests.:)

No idea on the answer to your question Julie unless it is 4 8 15 16 23 42. Those are the only numbers I seem to affiliate with LOST.

Miss Kim said...

Rats. I missed "Fringe". I was consumed with a 6th grade English project.....glad to hear it was good, though. I'll try to watch it at some point this week. What's the point of DWY? What clues are we supposed to be uncovering? I know that other ARG's have contained "canon" information as confirmed by D&C. What else do we have except for the Pierre Chang video? There must be something significant in the names of the groups that Dharma recruits are being placed in.....

Miss Kim said...

Test 5 puts me in Chaos. Hmmmmmmm.

PJSander said...

I am really enjoying Fringe as well. It rates a little too high on the yuck/gore factor for me, but since I am watching with DH, he just tells me when I can watch again. *g*

Joshua Jackson has only improved with age. Still a cutie pie, but of all the Dawson's Creek cast, DEFINITELY the best actor. Darling Katie Holmes. Sweet and pretty. But it would appear she was playing herself as Joey!

I'm waiting for cameos from Greg Grunberg, Keri Russell and Jennifer Garner! You can't really expect the other two to show up on LOST, but I really see that as a possibility on Fringe.

They were very smart to make it episodic, with an overall arc. Much easier for the casual viewer to feel involved.

: ) P

PJSander said...

I did test 5. Three times. Different questions each time. First two, I got 7 right. Last one I got 9 right. Gonna stop at that! The questions got HARDER every time I took it! LOL

I got "chaos" too.

Didn't see any odd things with the video this time. Did anyone else?

You stumped me with your question, Julie!

: ) P

Julie said...

PJ, How long do I wait before i tell you guys the answer to my question?
Ugh... headed to another day of work....

Hammer said...

I'll try to find a way to upload.

Hammer said...

I am not having luck saving my word doc. as a pdf. I went back to try to stop the video at the glitch and found that there is new video telling us not to investigate the glitches...lol.

I emailed the word doc. to the big island. Maybe they can put it up?

PJSander said...

I think we agreed that we would wait one day or until we'd all given up. If you want to tell us the answer and then give us a new question now, go for it, Julie!

: ) P

Julie said...

Okay... the answer to the question is:
::insert drum roll here:: lol!

7418880 is the number associated with the eletromagnetic incident detected by the computer in the arctic listening station.

7418880 is the product of 'the numbers'. 4x8x15x16x23x42 = 7418880

:)

So do I ask another question or is someone elses turn?

PJSander said...

Wow, cool. I had no idea about the number!

If you stump us, you ask again! Thanks, Julie.

: ) P

Julie said...

Okay...next question.

Keamy (I hate that guy in every show/movie he is in) has a paw tattoo on his right shoulder. How many toes does it have?

PJSander said...

The immediate answer would be four. LOL.

I know the real answer because I saw it when I was researching Charlie's tattoo. It is five - but it is weird. *g*

Right?
: ) P

Julie said...

Yep! That's right! I thought that I would catch people up on guessing 4, but you were WAY ahead of me!! :)

PJSander said...

Guess that means I am up for a question, now!

In what situation did Jin speak English without a Korean accent?

: ) P

When he appeared to Hurley in the food storage locker. :)
I just watched that DVD this weekend.

Okay... next question.
Kate has been married once. (That we know of) What police department did her husband work for?
:)

Julie said...

I just took test 5. I got 5/10 right and was put in catagory Oranos??
This is what I found on it:
Oranos was the first god of the sky.
Appearantly he is the son AS WELL AS the husband to Gaea aka Mother Earth

lost4ever said...

Wasn't Kevin a Miami police officer?

lost4ever said...

I think this question might have been asked already, but we have had so many, I honestly can't remember. What was the bounty on Kate's head in Australia?

I am loving the commercial breaks on Fringe. I mean the info given at the breaks, which every show should do. "Fringe will return in 90 seconds" or "Fringe will return in 70 seconds". That was Awesome. I wonder what it would be for LOST?
"LOST will return in 420 seconds" or "LOST will return in 7418880 seconds" at least that is how long it seems sometimes.:)

lost4ever said...

I am sure Grunberg will do a cameo on Fringe. He is JJ's childhood friend. Although he might not have time as he is already a main character on a hit TV show. Monday is only 5 days away. Finally the premier, after 9 months of waiting. HEROES

PJSander said...

I don't think we asked your question before, L4E, but I believe it was $23000.

I updated the Heroes blog - nothing exciting, but hopefully, there will be something to report in just a few days! LOL

: ) P

Julie said...

Okay... so I *JUST* finished watching Speed Racer with my 3 year old son.
If Jack could act a more like Racer X I could possibly like him a little more. ::Hmpf:: Here's to wishing....
I'm SO glad you mentioned Heroes. I forgot it starts Monday. Nolan (my son) will be THRILLED!
L4E, obviously your answer was right. :) Miami-Dade. And I'm totally with you on the "Fringe will be back in 90seconds". Ive never seen a show with such short commercial breaks. Hardly enough time for a potty break and to grab a juice box for the munchkin.
Here's a visual for ya.. lol..
::Screaming from behind a closed bathroom door:: "Nolan! Is it back on yet???" (again..he's 3) "What?" "The show!!! Is it back on?" "What?" "Nolan... seriously.. the show... is it on?" "Oh.. yea! The guy you call Pacey is is shooting at a bad guy." "What? Pacey is shooting someone" "What mommy"
::ARRRRGH... Charlie Brown yell::

lol!!! That's Fringe at my house. :)
During a Lost commerical break I can go out for pizza, fill up the gas tank, and call my mother to 'catch up' and not miss a thing. LOL!

Hammer said...

Wow, Julie changes her photo more often than I change my under...um...nevermind.

No, its called boredom. You should see my myspace. It changes almost daily. ;)

Julie said...

Okay... this is how I explain it to everyone else.
My son, Nolan is as I've stated before 3. He's INCREDIBLY intelligent. I've had him 'school' since the age of one and totally have to attribute it to the combination of that and God given ability.
His vocabulary is quite extensive and commuicates on the same level as a six or seven year old. He understands irony, jokes, manipulations, and other things that we as adults forget are 'learned'.
He's never really been into cartoons or other 'child driven' things. At 2 he was really into Zack & Cody on Disney. It's like he has the mentality of a tween.
Now, at three he loves to sit down with me and watch things like Lost, Fringe, Law & Order. His favorite movie isn't anything like Cars or Nemo.. it's iRobot (the old Will Smith movie)
He's the only child I know that can seriously EXPLAIN Lost to you. He has his very own opinions and theories so to speak.
Just this last weekend his father was visiting from out of town and Nolan and I were watching the season 2 DVDs. Rob (his father) asked Nolan why he wanted to watch it with mommy and he said "No dad, it's awesome! They are stuck, but not really. They just dont know they aren't stuck." This raising his interest he asked more questions to which Nolan explained the following "Well Jack.. I dont really like him. He needs to cry and just get it out. He'll be ok." "Kate is sneaky I wouldn't want to play with her." "James (He WILL NOT call him Sawyer and will argue with you to the death if you try to tell him differently) is mommys favorite but he needs a bath. But hes cool because he can shoot guns. Ive never seen him hit anything though" "Sayid is :looking at me: a BAD... uhm.. a really cool guy! I think he's going to save everyone!" "Charlie was my favorite but he died but thinking he may not be dead, I dont really think that anyone dies there."
SO, this blog that turned into a novel (just because Ive had this comvo SO many times) He really enjoys it! Its something with alot of action and just like I've told SO many people Lost can be taken at face value and is still a perfectly great show, its when you delve in deeper that you get people like ::sigh:: us. :)

Hammer said...

My 10 yr old son watches Lost and Fringe. He loved Cloverfield and has been begging to get the monster actions figure. He's becoming a sci-fi geek. Not real big into comics and superhero stuff.

My 12 yr old daughter shows weak interest in Lost as does my wife. She doesn't like Fringe at all, my does because each case kind of gets solved by the end of the show.

Julie said...

Okay I may be stoned for this one but I dont really like the fact that every Fringe case is solved by the end of the show.
Sure, I dont want a 5 year draw out cause God knows with Fox a show can be hot one day and gone the next. But to arc something over two weeks or so would be A-OK by me.
I just feel a little cheated when EVERYTHING works.
::Gee I wish I had some sort of fictional scanner that could read an eyeball. OH WAIT! I happen to have a one armed connection at a MASSIVE globo-comp that just happens to have the ONLY ONE in existance!!! Lucky me! Another case solved! ::
Okay.. not bashing. Love the show.. just you know...

Well, you have to keep in mind that he IS three and doesn't understand that a POLAR bear shouldn't be in a jungle. It's like a wolfe in a hen house. We would see that and say "oh no! Theres a wolfe in the hen house!!!" He would look and say "Hey.. cool.. theres a dog in there." Does that make sense?
I dont think he's seen the epi where Sawyer shoots the bear but he has seen the one where Locke saves Eko. I remember him commenting that Locke was 'gonna get the mean bear!' (he likes Locke)
As for ole Smokey to him, its just an action. Smokey doesn't seem to represent a 'thing' to him. You and I see smokey coming in to do harm, to judge. He sees a black cloud swirling around and then sees the resulting action as a separate action. "Oh there is a black cloud. Oh no, Eko died." Get it? To him, they don't seem to be connected.

Hi all, I've been reading but havn't had a second to type in awhile. Got a 80% on test 5 the second go around. Two number strings have be tied up and it's driving me nuts.

I wanted to fess up here. Julie, I was the one who questioned you on letting a two year old watch Lost. I still feel that the average 2 year old shouldn't watch Lost, particially because the average young parent use TV as a babysitter. Nolan seems by your descriptions to be not the average two year old and in reading your comments since that time you certainly seem better equipted than the average young single mother. The circus deals with local underpriviliged kids and they don't get the education and attention Nolan gets from you. I apoligise for speaking out of turn.

I actually had a similar situation when my son Tommy was in 5th grade. He got a new principle at his school while I was in the process of having him moved to another class. She refused to move him to a new teacher because she thought it would be tramatic for him to leave his friends. When I told her that he didn't have many friends in his class and most of friends were at least 5 years older than him she got quite concerned and suggested councling. Tommy is 18 now and his best friend is 37. He has many friends and the age group he invites to his parties ranges from 12 to 54. I understand why the principle was concerned but circus creates a extended family and removes the boundries of age from friendships. Tommy is leaving for college on Monday and I am more concerned about how he will deal with his 18 year old jock roomate. Much talk about beer pong and keggers on his myspace. Tommy dosn't drink, yet. He would be allowed to at home in moderation but hasno desire.

Anyway, I should have known better than to judge on one short blog entry, sorry.

Circus Dork will bring with her new and different challanges as she is now 15 and nothing like her brother.

On Fringe, I am reminded of X=files with individual stories with a underlying theme. There will be repetive themes that pop up now and again. I agree with PJ, a little bit on the gorey side for my tasts this week. I'm not into disembodied eyeballs.

Julie said...

Circusmom: Thank you for the apology. It means a lot. I guess that I'm just not used to having to defend it. Most the people that know us know how Nolan is... so I forget that all 3 year olds can't count to 30 or understand plot points. I will go out with friends and their children and think "wow, I dont know how they do it" Its just easy to be Nolans mom. As for being an equipped young parent. Yes, I'm 27 but I dont really think that to be YOUNG anymore. I'm an extremely devoted parent. I work hard but when I'm at home it's me and Nolan.. nothing else.
So, again.. thanks for your apology.
::as I type this I'm suffering though some teeny bopper Disney movie:: lol
So.. Im with you guys on Fringe having an XFiles feel even though Xfiles was slightly before my time. I really wasnt trying to bash on Fringe I really do like it.
DocH: Yes, he would be a man of faith.. LOL!
General Question: How do I add blogs to my dashboard so I can follow them easier?

PJSander said...

Wow, Julie. I knew your kid was advanced, but that's amazing! I have a gifted kid too, but his maturity level doesn't match his education-level! LOL.

I get what you mean about Fringe solving every case in one episode, but I think it is a smart move on TPTB's parts. Because each episode is self-contained, they leave the show open to a new audience finding it over time. And I kind of like that each episode fills in a small piece of the puzzle.

I've seen Daniel Dae Kim's name in the news (relating to his old DUI bust) which reminded me to ask you all about your thoughts on Jin's fate for the coming season.

Personally, I think he got off the freighter before the explosion, was picked up by Daniel in the kodiak and moved with the island. But there is no THEORY behind it, I just want him to survive! LOL

I think I am up for a question:

From which state did the REAL Henry Gale hail?

: ) P

PJSander said...

And while we are on the topic of the real Henry Gale... I have heard several people mention on the big island, and seen on Lostpedia that his balloon was sponsored by Widmore. But I don't recall ever seeing that on the show. Was it an ARG discovery?

The balloon was sponsored and/or manufactured by Widmore Corporation and Metallurgy & Mining Co. It was also sponsored by Mr. Cluck's Chicken Shack and Nozz-A-La Cola."

This is not the place to discuss opinions of other people. PERIOD.

Accept that, discuss LOST or any of the peripheral conversations that relate to LOST, or go elsewhere.

The "little island" has remained trouble free for six months and I will make sure it continues to.

As it says above the comment box, you are welcome to post as "anonymous" but if you do, we ask that you please identify yourself in some way, such as signing your post.

PJSander said...

Okay, well that was an amusing hour.

GMTA, in case you didn't just pack up your bat and ball and march off in a huff, I will go ahead and reply to your last post.

Julie's talking about her son was a response to a QUESTION (not an attack) someone ASKED about her son which was IN RELATION to LOST.

I believe that she was EXPLAINING about why she and her young son watch LOST together. Not "gushing" as you said. Just as I defended YOU on the big island at one time, I will defend Julie as well.

I am perfectly THRILLED that you think this is an abc network contrived site because I find that flattering. I suppose it means you think we have some insight and an air of professionalism. Thank you.

However, if we WERE a network sponsored site, do you think we would be satisfied with just seven regularly blogging members? With a network budget, we might market ourselves up to about 70! Whoo hoo!

I'm sorry that I upset this person by talking about my son. I don't know that I believe him to be a 'supa' son? But I do think that there (and I perhaps have forgotten this in the past) is some explaination needed when I speak about letting my 3 year old watch Lost. It's not a typical allowance.
SO... anywho. Thank you PJ for stepping up for me.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!! ::Smile::

Oh hey! I had a funny LOST dream last night.

I dreamed that I was on a beach and noticed Daniel Dae Kim sitting there. I sat down and talked with him for a few minutes about nothing in particular, said goodbye and started to leave.

Then, IN MY DREAM, I thought of you all and realized that I couldn't just NOT acknowledge LOST!

So I went back to him and told him that I saw in the paper how he wasn't allowed to drive for six months and was it a drag to be driven to work (trying to find out if he WAS working!)? He told me he took the BUS! I asked how the public transit was in Hawaii and he said surprisingly good. LOL. So then I knew he was working in Hawaii!

Silly, I know!

PJ- Again you like to exaggerate on dates. We really need to get you a calendar.:)
6 months for this blog? I recall it starting around memorial day which occurs at the end of May (the 5th month). It is now Sept (the 9th month). Which almost marks the halfway point of our way toooooo long hiatus.
Julie-are you mistyping "anyhow" wrong or is that a Southern term? anywho.

I was blown away by last week's Fringe DocH. I hope they stick with that formula. Reminded me of the X-files to a certain extent. Thanks for the read.

I noticed one more thing. Did we find our Ben F Cavier. Typing with no caps and bad punctuation, almost childlike.

lost4ever said...

That episode should be on Monday on the sci-fi channel Julie. I am going to have a hard time watching that as HEROES comes on at 8:00. Not sure if the show actually starts at 8:00 or not. I think they me be doing some kind of special before hand.

Back to Season 1, when Locke gives Sayid the compass to help him, he tells Sayid he doesn't need it anymore and also where he learned how to identify birds and tie knots as a child. Where did he learn these skills?

As I remember it, Locke learned that stuff in the Boy Scouts, but it was the level before Boys scouts - crud, I don't remember what it was! It wasn't Cub Scouts because I have HEARD of that and had never heard of the other scouts he mentioned.

I remember that scene very vividly because when I watched it on DVD, it was an episode I had NEVER seen!

Wasn't Locke an Eagle scout?

Lock was a Wee below, and I do think gtma leah is Ben F. Cavier. Besides typing style they have the same type of anger.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, that was me.

I just went on a tour of the big island. Really think gtma and Cavier are the same. Also came up with a question, not trivia.

If "all of them have to go back," does that include frank? Desmond? Penny? I don't remember if there was much discussion on this.

Trivia question, When was the first time we saw Sun use herbs to help someone?

Anonymous said...

I like to think of the little island as a panel waiting to discuss the newest epi of Lost. We are waiting for the episode to came out and are at the Coctail hour before the meeting. Our major connection is Lost but we are having social conversation, usually, but not always relating to Lost. Once we have a show to discuss we will refocus on that.

Going back to the big island will take some readjustment once the show starts up again.

Miss Kim said...

Wow. Wow, wow, wow, and wow.
PJ--I want to let you know that you are a fantabulous little island facilitator. (For the record, I am aware that fantabulous isn't really a word. Perhaps through frequent usage it will grace the pages of Webster as its "cousin" ginormous has. As for anyhoo....I'm not from the South and it is something I have used quite regularly in my posts. I guess we just spell it differently than y'all do north of the Mason-Dixon.) As a parent--and an early childhood educator--I offer these words of wisdom: No parent purposefully attempts to do "the wrong" thing for their child. Even drug users that tie their kids up to chairs when they go out to binge have their children's safety at heart. What works for my child may not work for your child. My priorities, lifestyle, moral beliefs, and culture may not be identical to yours. That's what makes the world go 'round and keeps life interesting. Thanks PJ for keeping our little island a place where tolerance, diversity, and respect are valued.

Okay so here I am on a Friday night re-reading the day's posts. Oh, the interesting life I lead... lol.
So, getting back to PJs question about Jin. I don't think that Jin is dead. If so, I will have a serious case of deja vu for the "oh no they didnt's...." that I felt when Mr. Eko died. I believe that Eko and (hopefully not) Jin are two of the most under-utilized characters on the show.
As brought up earlier, Locke is a man of Faith. I can only imagine where the story lines could have leapt with a man of faith and a main of found faith. But, unfortunately the actor who played Eko was not very agreeable. :(

Where are we on trivia questions?

I noticed something the other day watching season one. When Kate and Sawyer are going toe to toe for the last spot on the raft Kate asks "Why do you want to leave so badly?" and Sawyer says (And this is his quote so you gotta put the KNOXVILLE accent on it) "There ain't nothing for me on this island!"
This is in stark contrast to this opinion at the end of season four when he decides to follow Locke and stay on the island.

Miss Kim said: Thanks PJ for keeping our little island a place where tolerance, diversity, and respect are valued.

Thanks, Miss Kim. My initial reaction was much more instinctual than what I ended up writing. Since I didn't know who was posting at first, (though I had a suspicion) I felt it was important to be as diplomatic as possible. It wasn't easy! LOL.

I think Shannon was the first person that Sun helped, but I know I am not the first to answer the question!

I agree that Eko was underused (as were Ana-Lucia and Libby) but according to D&C, the first two only had a one year contract.

I really think it isn't a mistake that we never learned Libby's last name (Widmore, perhaps?) and that she will be back in a significant way before the end of the show.

Circus Mom said: I like to think of the little island as a panel waiting to discuss the newest epi of Lost. We are waiting for the episode to came out and are at the Coctail hour before the meeting. Our major connection is Lost but we are having social conversation, usually, but not always relating to Lost. Once we have a show to discuss we will refocus on that.

Very well said, m'dear!

Circus Mom said: If "all of them have to go back," does that include frank? Desmond? Penny? I don't remember if there was much discussion on this.

Good question! I think I automatically believed that "they all" meant the O6. But that is very narrow minded of me! "All "could well include Ji-Yeon, Desmond, Penny, Locke, Ben, and sure, even Frank. I really LIKED Frank!

I DON'T want spoilers, but I REALLY want to know if Emilie de Ravin was/is pregnant. She really LOOKED it in her face in the last episode. It would be something they would keep quiet. Mostly, though, I want to know if she is WORKING! LOL.

gtma leah, or whoever you are, I said I hoped you would stay and post positivly. How is that a stab in the back. If someone is using your name I'm sorry.

Miss Kim, you got the trivia question. You're up.

Miss Kim said...

Actually.....I was wrong. I checked the answer. Well, kind of wrong. Shannon was the first person Sun helped medicinally with herbs. She actually helped someone else by showing them a way to use herbs to.....ummmm....stay in good health. So--that's the question/my question, I guess. Who did Sun help the first time we learned that she had some knowledge of herbs/plants for health purposes?

Julie said...

Sun showed Walt how to use an aloe plant as a toothbrush or toothpaste. The only reason I remember that is because when I was a kid my brother dared me to squeeze an aloe plant in my mouth (I was like 5 I think) and it was the worst tasting thing EVER!

lost4ever said...

CM-I have talked about the "they all have to go back" on other blogs but I guess not here. First, we need to look at the source that this info comes from. BEN. He seems to "bend the truth" quite often to benefit his purpose. I would not be surprised if this latest comment was partially dishonest, but I could be way off.
I believe that one of his goals IS to make it back to the island, but I think his Primary goal is to exact revnege on Widmore. The best way for him to do that is to tell Jack that he has to gather EVERYONE, Desmond included, to return to the island. Jack being the GOOD "SHEPHERD", will gather the flock to do what he believes is the right thing. Then Ben can find out more about the whereabouts of his primary target. Penelope. JMO.
So I guess I didn't answer your question at all, LOL. Just through my theory out there. I guess I am not really sure that "they all have to go back" is true because of who said it.

The man who played Eko, AAA, who was also excellent in the Hbo show OZ, asked to be killed off the show, from what I remember.

Sounds right. D&C said that both he and Michelle Rodriguez ASKED for a one year contract. Why on EARTH they would turn down joining the number one show EVER for more than a year? I don't know. Anyway, I guess Michelle was willing to renew her contract, but they didn't know that until after the plans to kill her character.

In another interview, D&C said that AAA had island fever (didn't like Hawaii) and despite wanting Eko to stay on, they wrote him off as planned.

I also remember hearing that Evie Lilly is ALLERGIC to Hawaii. I guess she gets sick within minutes of the plane landing and is fine within minutes of take off when leaving. That's a pretty miserable existence, but for fame and fortune, I suppose it is worth it!

Julie said...

I dont remember AAA being on OZ. I remember Micheal but not AAA. Who was he?

lost4ever said...

AAA was Adebisi on OZ. He was played an african on that show also. Funny considering he is English. Lance Reddick, or Abaddon to LOST fans, also appeared on OZ. He portrayed an undercover cop who ultimately was pushed down an elevator shaft. His best role, as I have said before many times:), is on the Wire, as Lieutenant Daniels, then Captain Daniels, then Police Chief Daniels. For those of us who like over-arching, long-term dramas, The Wire is at the top of TV. Their cast consisted of over 50 "regular" characters.

So, funny story.
I just had a 20 minute heated discussion with my son.. We're currently watching "Nim's Island" (If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.) and he is convinced that we are watching a new Lost.
It is very Lost-esque. I would say that it could be the Saturday morning equivilent.
Gerard Butler has a line regarding keeping outsiders off their island "If we take care of our island it will take care of us." Inexplicable weather changes, walls of water over turning boats...
Worth seeing to a Lost hiatus quick fix. :)

PJSander said...

I saw the trailer for Nim's Island. That is definitely on the "to see" list for the whole family. The boys are in the middle of "minimum week" so it will be a while before we get it! LOL.

LOST starts on our local ABC affiliate at 2am Sunday. Guess I will watch again! LOL.

I didn't think they ever said the name of the couple waiting to adopt Aaron in LA. Some have specualted that the couple may have been Jack and Kate, through the vision of the psychic.

Im sorry.. I was watching season one. It's not the couple waiting to adopt her baby but the couple wanting to adopt her baby in Australlia.
Give it up to me 1/2 watching and 1/2 folding clothes.

Vincent is dead!!!!
I'm watching Season 1 Epi 1 and vincent is watching Jack, Kate, and Charlie lookfor the cockpit and it hit me. VINCENT IS DEAD!!!
I think he died in the crash and what we know as Vincent is the island taking Vince's form (ala: wispers, Jack's dad, Kate's horse, etc)

HI everyone, Just read a bunch of posts trying to catch up. I had to say I'm suprised everyone's so happy with the last ep of Fringe. I thought it was a blatent rip-off of X-files, and moreso, the "Jack the Ripper" ep of Kolshak: The Night Stalker! (the old one with Darren McGavin, not that new one which was mercifully put out of MY misery after 2 or 3 episodes)
... still better than Ely Stone though :)

Julie said...

:( I like Eli Stone.
I may be the only person EVER... but I like it. It's a sweet show.

Miss Kim said...

Hey CAG. Nice to see you again. Ah, the Vincent Theory. Lots of specualation and buzz about that one throughout the whole series.....Lostpedia has a great theories section on it, Julie. It's funny how much you pick up on the 2nd (3rd, 4th, :) ) time around.....

Miss Kim said...

I'll be watching "Fringe" tonight so I'm up to speed for Tuesday. I never watched the X-files of the other show you mentioned CAG. I never knew I was a sci-fi kind of girl until LOST came along and swept me off my feet. (I did like the original Star Trek, however. And Planet of the Apes.) I think that's part of the reason I am so excited about LOST. I'm such a newbie to the whole genre! I've started reading and watching more sci-fi type stuff since LOST and I'm really liking it.

Anonymous said...

I'm with Julie. I like Eli Stone, but I can't watch it after Lost. Different mindset.

I've gone back and forth on the Vincent is dead theory. Circus Dork says he seems to grow younger as the series moves on. Could be a simple matter of what dog is playing him at what time.

lost4ever said...

Hi cag, welcome back.

MissKim-Was the original Star Trek with the guy from X-men?

cag-I loved the X-files, and if JJ needs to "borrow" ideas from a 15 year-old show, then so be it. There was so much more ( not sure what a moreso is, maybe another Southern word I am unfamiliar with :) ) to the episode than the original X-files one. I think there may be more to Fringe than "ripping" off the X-files though. Patience is a virtue.

Wow PJ, cag and gmta leah in a few days. This blog is heating up. Oops, I almost forgot Gmta Leah, the real one. Now where is esb?

No answer yet for the steward family yet Julie?

***NEWS FLASH***

ROBBED
ROBBED
ROBBED!

Tonight's Emmy's were SO disappointing as LOST only had two "primetime" Emmy nominations (for the show and for Michael Emerson, BSAiD) and both walked away without the shiny girl in hand.

At the Creative Arts Emmy's, LOST did pick up a win for Outstanding Sound Mixing, but that's all.

How can it be that the best show on television, perhaps EVER, can't get a freekin' Emmy?!

Shout out to CAG - welcome back.

Network TV is overrated PJ.

Don't get me wrong, I am lost4ever, and it is by far the best show I have ever seen, but Cable TV shows rule and it showed. I feel sorry for people without cable.:)

PJSander said...

Yeah, people without cable must be "lost" at the Emmy's. We didn't have "real" cable until about a year ago, and still don't have "premium" channels. I didn't know anything about The Closer, The Shield, Mad Men, Oz, Weeds, The L Word, Dexter, Psych, etc. Most of those I still haven't SEEN.

L4E said: Wow PJ, cag and gmta leah in a few days. This blog is heating up. Oops, I almost forgot Gmta Leah, the real one. Now where is esb?

Yes, we are getting a bit busier! Makes all this long wait (what is it, eight more months?! LOL) go by faster.

I am still puzzled by the gmta leah thing. Someone saying that she was gmta leah from the big island found me on facebook and said hello. I reminded that person about the little island.

Then someone with that name comes here and blasts Julie (in a really horrific post, now deleted) and backs off in a huff when called out for doing so.

Then a couple of days later, there are more posts, where gmta leah says that the OTHER gmta leah is an imposter. I don't know WHAT to believe.

Bottom line, if gmta leah contributes to the conversation in a respectful tone, and avoids derogatory remarks, she is welcome to post here. However, if she doesn't, I suggest we all just ignore the comments until I can delete them.

Sound fair?

I'll buy that, if he's basically a visible Whisperer....

PJSander said...

I'll be honest and tell you that I don't fully comprehend your Whisper Theory, Hammer. So I am curious to hear your take on these things:

Do you believe that "visions" of Harper, Boone, Goodspeed, for example are "visible" Whispers?

If so, do you believe that Whispers can get on and off the island? (Charlie*, Christian)

How does "taller ghost Walt" fit in? He was on his way to, or had arrived in NYC, by the time he showed up to Shannon, Sayid and eventually, the dying Locke.

: ) P

*whom I admit, regrettably, may actually BE dead, though I still maintain that he MAY be alive

Hammer said...

PJ,

Well, since I am very flexible with my theory, it's no wonder. I can't connect the dots, but I feel strongly that the whisperers are related to the time issues. I think that the "whisperers" are dead in a time line and they are lingering hoping to be rescued from the time line in which they are dead. I think they have the ability to show themselves but are waiting for the correct opportunity (close the to conclusion of the show, LOL).

Yes I believe that Harper is a whisperer (even though D&C hinted that she isn't dead). I struggle with dead people appearing in dreams, but lean toward that being the easiest way to appear with out totally ruining the plot. I think Goodspeed's "broken record" speech is because the message was caught in a time glitch (I think it happened when we were learning that time was off such as the ship doctor washing up on shore before he was even killed). I believe they can be scene on or off the island because I believe that they are "alive" in different time lines, but dead in others and THEY know it (see Charlie, he knows he's dead "but still here" in his own words).

I don't have time to research all of the Walt visions and podcast clues...but I believe that Walt's appearances were not Walt as a whisperer...mostly because he isn't dead and he doesn't seem to know much about what's happening on the island per the finale, but also because I think Smokey/Island were creating the visions.

L4E--I honestly don't know who was in X-Men. Never saw it. I looked it up and I saw a guy from Star Trek, The Next Generation--Patrick Stewart--who played Captain Jean Luc Picard....but he wasn't in the original Star Trek. That was Captain James T. Kirk--played by William Shatner. I watched a little bit of ST, The Next Generation....actually, I'd watch any of the Star Treks if it was on. I just really liked the original one the best. I'm looking forward to the new Star Trek movie (thanks JJ!!!) but am having a bit of a hard time seeing anyone else play Kirk.

I wasn't too thrilled with the Emmy Awards myself....not a lot of nominations for LOST and only one win for the Colbert Report. :( At least South Park won. :)
