In Memoriam 09-22-2008

Let us all take a moment to reflect on the passing of the passengers and crew of Oceanic 815, who perished on this day four years ago.

As well as those we know survived the crash and died, or were killed, after the fact.

As well as those of whose fate we are unsure.

As well as those who were on the island by other means.

As well as those who survived but are, in varying degrees, realizing that their 815 story is not yet complete.

In short, let's all remember
LOST.

Wow.. impressive PJ! Love it!
Sorry I've been so quiet today. I've had what can only be called a bad day. I've had it up to *here* with my European counterpart, I had 150 out of 1000 PLGs come in askew because our factory is lazy, my Blackberry fell in the toilet (dont ask.. lol), and the munchkin insisted on HOMEMADE lasagne instead of something easy so that I could actually take a breath before Heroes starts.
On a Heroes note. I'm strangely attracted to Siler.. that scares me a little.. lol!
On to Lost. I *adore* the idea of Vincent being a whisperer! Sure he likes to play fetch, has a penchant for crotches, rolling on his back in the mud, and drinking out of well.. whatever they may use as a toilet bowl. BUT my point is the fact that maybe he is the insight to the fact that the whisperers are not a bad thing. We associate so many of the islands 'happenings' with being bad.. or destructive. Maybe the whispers, whisperers, manifistations, etc.... are the 'good' coming out. Lost has always had an underlying point of good v. evil.
I like it.. Im running with it! Don't try and stop me!! LOL! Vince is a ghost and the are two Smokies!!!!
:P
I think Heroes may call for a Corona!

In DWY, "behind" the eerie music, there is a man's voice speaking. The sounds are random and sometimes sound foreign, but also a bit like they are words recorded and played in reverse.

Anyone get anything from them?

A man who can draw the future on Fringe. That sounds vaguely familiar. "MR. Isaac" says Hiro.

Julie said...

I miss Isaac. :(

Hammer said...

I for one am enjoying Fringe. Hey Doc, where is there a good Fringe blog?

Julie said...

Wow! Where did everyone go?? Was there like a Dharma sponsered field trip or something and I forgot to get my note signed? GEEZ!
You guys make me giggle randomly through the day at work and when I check in and my half asleep 'I miss Isaac' is still the last thing posted... well.. it makes my day go SO slow. :(
It's all about me people... all about me. Lol! ;)

PJSander said...

Mondays and Tuesdays seem to be very slow days around the little island, Julie. Don't worry, we haven't disappeared! I do like the idea of a DHARMA sponsored field trip, though!

Hammer said...

Yeah, I'm just crazy busy. Kids in sports...holy crap! Friday I'm moving/driving my dad from MI to NV then flying back so lots of prep for that. But I keep checking in...

Test 6 is up at DWY. I have no idea if I got ANY of the answers correct, but I was category "Apollo" anyway.

tvfodder.com Hammer. Traveling for work again PJ. No laptop througout the day. Where are we on the trivia?

I thought the Fringe episode last night was better than the pilot, but not as good as "the same old story". I wonder if we found a recurring role in Roy, the guy from the movie "In and Out", who was a kid back then.

Julie said...

Okay everything I just read went like this... Roy blah blah blah... In and Out...blah blah blah. Appearanlty my brain isn't processing. What are you talking about?? Was Roy the guy they cut open? In and Out? I know like EVERY movie and I think you and I are close to the same age. What are you talking about??
LOL!!!
Okay so I want to go try the new test at DWY but I am so tired that I know it will be bad... just bad... so I think that I'm going to pass until tomorrow or maybe this weekend when I have some down time. Work is INSANE our fall line was delayed and we're already discontinuing some of our Spring/Summer mix. Ugh.
Anywho.
So no one is commenting on the 3 hour Heroes marathon. Surprising.
Do we have a date for season 4 DVD release on Lost?

PJSander said...

Julie, I created a Heroes blog called "the basement" for LOST fans to discuss Heroes. It hasn't had much activity (and I don't watch Heroes, but dh does). Still, here is the link:

http://heroesnotlost.blogspot.com/

L4E, you asked where we were for trivia, thank you for the reminder! Julie asked about Claire's meeting with possible adoptive parents, but no one knew the answer. Julie, I think it is time for a new question (and the answer to this one!) please.

We recorded Fringe but have not watched it. Dh wanted to watch Heroes instead, fine by me. I will contribute to that conversation eventually! LOL.

As for a Fringe blog, DocH is a SYSOP on Fringe's answer to Lostpedia: http://fringewiki.info

I haven't quite figured out where to post there, but at least it gives you some info.

There is also
http://www.tvfodder.com/fringe/
which I haven't checked out yet, but plan to.

In the meantime, feel free to discuss Fringe here. Maybe I should create a Fringe blog like the little island?

Hope that covered everything.

lost4ever said...

Check out imdb.com, then type "In and Out". It was a comedy about 10 years ago with Kevin Kline playing a high school teacher. Matt Dillon also starred. AND yada, yada, yada, I missed the part where Roy was cut open. I saw them drill something onto his head though.

I took test 6. I'm Demeter. I think I'll go watch something and fall asleep.

Miss Kim said...

L4E came awfully close to answering Julie's question. (Reference to the steward family of the baby) I think the answer is Mr. and Mrs. Stewart. (I remember looking it up because I had no idea what the answer was.) I think this is a good place to discuss Fringe....it gives the little island folk something to do while we wait for LOST to return. Test 6 was pretty random--I checked some of my answers afterwards and I guessed reasonably well. My group is Demeter. I haven't got the time to check out what that "means" right now...but I'm still trying to figure out what all of the categories are a clue for. What's up w/ the guy talking on the DWY site? I need to look around and find out what's been discovered about it. Have y'all heard/read anything about it?

Hammer said...

They finally posted my screenprint over at the big island. See what ya think....

Julie said...

Agh, okay daily breather.
I think that I'm going to try the DWY test tonight.
I remember being so in awe while TLE was going on. Why is it so hard for them to live up to that? I didn't participate in Find815 (that's what divorce and moving across the country will do for ya) but I followed along through the big island.
Why is it that this one is SO bad?

Julie said...

Oh, and yea L4E got it. So I think it's his turn.

Julie said...

Okay so appearanlty Dharma thinks that I have some pent up aggression. LOL.
On the last test I got placed in the "Ares" group. This is now twice that I've been placed in a group defined by a god of war.
Niiiiiice.

PJSander said...

So I watched Fringe tonight. Curiouser and curiouser. I am watching it very much like the early days of LOST. Confused a little, but accepting it all because I think it will start to line up eventually.

I keep thinking "Rambaldi" while watching it... anyone else?

Near the end, Peter played some "jazz" on the piano for Olivia, but I am not sure how "Someone to Watch Over Me" is considered jazz?! I wonder if they intended to have him play something else and then couldn't get the rights.

I have decided that Astrid is Fringe's Hurley - asking the questions the audience wants answers to.

The jury is still out on Fringe. I like it, but I don't LOVE it. I could do without the gore (though this week's brain surgery was a vast improvement over the eye stuff from last week). I will keep watching, and hope it doesn't get canceled!

DocH said: Dunham/Mulder is the "I want to believe" role, and Bishop/Scully is the "I am intelligent, pragmatic - and things don't add" character - the doubter.

Man of Science vs. Woman of Faith... ?

I agree! I do see the X-Files comparison, how can one not? But I see more Alias/Mission Impossible than X-Files. Then again, I only watched the first few seasons of X-Files. Back then, I was much more about figuring out the WHO and WHY of the "crimes" and it would drive me bananas when some extraordinary alien/scientific unknown would be the missing "piece" of the puzzle! LOL. Guess LOST taught me to chill out on THAT, eh?

I read a review that champion's Anna Torv's Dunham and questions Joshua Jackson's casting as Bishop. I think he is wonderful in the role and it isn't just because I like the actor. I think his reticence and self-deprecation are exactly what is needed to balance Dunham and the rest of the agents. JMO.

lost4ever said...

Awesome Hammer. I realize I started posting on the big island just 7 months ago, but it is weird that the people posting in the "off-season", are some names that I do not recognize from the weekly discussions. But they seem to be very inciteful.

There is a definite connection between X-files and Fringe. I like the comparison DocH. I was thinking the same thing about Mulder/Dunham. I don't think it is quite on the level of X-files yet, but the potential is there. Is there gonna be a Dunham foot-chase every week with about 15 minutes to go?

Julie, you brought up the question about the movie and did not reply? Do you not remember it?

In the episode "The Confidence Man", S1E8, We are introduced to Sawyer and the conman he is. How much does he tell the adultress he needs from her?

PJSander said...

I remember that!

Okay, he NEEDS $300k for an "oil deal" and only has $140k. So he has lunch and lets the husband (of the adulteress) KEEP his $140K for a day and ends up taking the guy's $160K and running.

Right?

OK, this came to me in a dream last night and it still needs work. Please send comments, arguments and ideas and I will incorporate them to flush out the theory.

So, think of the island as a train and it is traveling along a track. Each station is a different timeline. I’ll name the stations A, B, C, D & E to start. The station where 815 crashed is station C. Everyone from flight 815 and everyone we have seen “back home” so far are from C. Everyone on the freighter and Penny’s boat are from C. Rouseau, Alex, and Ben could be from C or could be from A or B.

When Ben (or anyone) moves the island it is moving from station to station or from timeline C to timeline D. How that relates to time travel later.

Hammer, help me with this part. When someone dies is LA in timeline C, they are dead in timeline C. They most likely also die in all the timelines close to C, (like B & D.) They are dead and gone. When someone dies on the island they are only dead at the current station. This makes them a whisperer. They are dead, but they are still here (on the train.) They are now always a whisperer in timeline C but are not necessarily dead in the other timelines. All the timelines overlap on the train.

When Ben moves the train from C to D the whisperers become “alive” again at the new station. Once you have changed timelines you stay the age you were before the move. You are now timeless (Richard Alpert). Each person belongs to the timeline they came from. Aaron belongs to C. If Rouseau belongs to C than Alex does too. Let’s say that to be born on the island both parents have to be from the timeline that you are born into. So both parents need to be from Timeline C for a baby to be born in station C. The "others" couldn’t have a baby because many of them are from timeline A or B and the train is in C.

Let’s say you can’t (easily) die on the island in the wrong timeline. That is why Mikhael keep coming back. Perhaps he is still alive.

Perhaps when you die off the island in any timeline you are dead and gone. That would mean no more Locke.

It's a start, feedback please.

L4E, Okay I realllllly dont remember asking a question about a movie. It's possible that I did though. I've been completely brain dead this week.
OH WAIT.. are you talking about the In and Out? That wasn't really a triva question but just more of a 'huh?'
I like the time line theory but again, my brain is just not up for comprehending that kind of stuff tonight.
I've come home and worked on numbers with the munchkin and am just now getting to relax, a little. Let me think on it a little and I may have better feedback tomorrow.

PJSander said...

Love the train analogy, Circus Mom. It all makes sense to me.

Can you tell me how Michael and Walt fit in with the train? They got off the train on the mainland... hmmm.

L4E, you are right. I was getting the original con mixed up with Cassidy's con.

I will go ahead and ask the next question since I have now spoiled it for everyone else (sorry!).

Keeping the "train" theme going...

To whom, was this line spoken: "Hey, _______ , why don't you just stay one more night, eh? I'll drive you to the train station first thing in the morning. I promise."

: ) P

Anonymous said...

That was spoken to Kate before her farmer tryed to turn her in to the marshall for the $23,000.

Doc, I think I get what you are saying but I have to let it settle first.

PJ, Michael and Walt got off at the same station they go on at so they are still in their own timeline. When the train moved on to station D Michael was on the freighter and probably stayed with the train. Walt is stuck in C with the O6, Desmond, Penny and Frank. I still havn't figured out how Locke got to station C after the train moved to station D. Maiby a hand car? Perhaps if Locke came to C from station D he can still be alive on the island.

I havn't figured out where Charlotte, Daniele and Miles fit on the train yet. Also havn't figured out why the rules wouldn't allow Widmore to kill Alex or why Ben can't kill Widmore.

I wonder if Adam and Eve have died in all the timelines? Will the dharma folks be back now that the train has moved on? Now starting to think about how time travel fits with this.

Trivia, Why was Eko building a church?

Anonymous said...

OK, instead of the train going into stations, each timeline is a track through a timeline. The Donkey Wheel is the switch that puts the train onto another track. Everything else still works but the element of time, moving forward on the track, is added. Ben, the person who flipped the switch is stuck at the first track, C.

I just saw some fresh photos from the set of LOST (shot last Tues).

Nothing to spoil - but I've never seen MFox so clean shaven. And ELily seems heavier. Looks like she has put on 10-12 pounds in the off-season - and no - not her wardrobe or any special effects stuffing.

(Butt and thighs mostly. Some in the boobs and a little extra pooch.)

________________________________
Good for her!! In the industry I work in I see and feel how much pressure there is. It's INSANE!
Both she AND MFox have been looking to thin lately. If you look back at season one and complare MFox to now.. look at his face structure. He has CLEARLY dropped atleast 20 pounds.

Miss Kim said...

CircusMom: I'm liking it. Are you kind of saying that timelines (parallell universes/alternate realities/whatever) are like traintracks and the Island is a traincar. When the Island switches tracks, the people on the trainvcar island move to different timelines. If you left the island and went back to "civilization" when the island was on a certain track, that is where you remain. If you die on the island, you are somehow connected to the island no matter which track it is moved to. (Whisperers theory fits in) The island traincar can be completely moved into the past, present, or future of a different "track" when the donkey wheel is moved. The person who switches the track (In this case, Ben) must remain on the track station timeline that the Island left from.

Maybe the Whispers have to do with avoiding some kind of time travel paradox. If the island can switch tracks AND move into the past, present, or future a person cannot really die unless they are ALSO really dead in the alternate timeline, thus Mikhail and others surviving one near death experience after another. I think that there was a theory on the Big Island with a diagram that reminds me of this train track theory.....i looked quickly for it but couldn't easily find it. I'll look later.....I'm digging this thought process....

PJSander said...

Julie said: If you look back at season one and complare MFox to now.. look at his face structure. He has CLEARLY dropped atleast 20 pounds.

If I were to guess, I would say this is more about his getting into the character (starving on an island for a long time) than his caving to celebrity fitness/skinniness issues.

But it also makes me happy to hear that Evie isn't quite so thin. If they could put a little extra flesh on Yunjin's body, that wouldn't hurt either.

If the photos aren't spoilerish, DocH, would you mind putting up the link, please?

I read somewhere that Claire is absent for most of the early season. That links in quite nicely with my "Emilie is pregnant" theory from last season.

I found these photos taken back in April - that bump, first time-pregnancy, could be six months. Baby could have been born in August.

http://tinyurl.com/emiliepregnant

The next public photos I could find were September, and she is definitely NOT pregnant. So I wonder...

: ) P

Anonymous said...

Miss Kim, Yes, this is what I am saying. So the whisperers are those who are dead in that timeline. When the train moves to another timeline they become "real" again and those dead in that timeline are the whisperers.

The train can change timelines but so can people/things. Bunnie number 8 could be from a different track or a different time on the same track.
Ben seems to think they can get back to the island which would involve switching tracks. Why would he need all of them to do it. I think Locke or the babies are a key to that.

Perhaps Widmore wasn't supposed to kill Alex because she was born on the island. That may have prevented her from being in any other timelines. That would mean the same about Aaron, and JiYeong being conceived there could be tied in. That leads me back to them being Adam and Eve.

Julie said...

Okay so I'm digging the idea of the island 'jumping tracks'. I *LOVE* the idea of JiYeong and Aaron being Adam and Eve! I never thought that Kate and Jack would be who it ended up being.
I looked at the pics of Emilie and she definately looks pregnant in those pics. She is an absolute doll with short hair and I have to admire that she's carrying a vintage Chanel bag!

Miss Kim said...

"changing the rules" may have meant something that would create some sort of a paradox--which is why it shouldn't have occured--possibly an alternate train track in the future which was visited by Ben contained Alex, alive and well. This is the foggy part....if the "future" really hasn't happened yet, and it is occuring in an alternate time line, is it a paradox? OR IS THIS HOW THE FUTURE CAN BE CHANGED?????? And, if it is changed successfully on one track, (in one timeline), will it somehow have a non-paradoxical effect on other timelines....kind of like the whisperers?

Anonymous said...

Each track, or time line, could be traveling at a different speed. This would mean that the island is not necessarly in 2004 anymore.

A reminder of the trivia question.

Why is Eko building a church?

Julie said...

Isn't he building a church to help protect the people....err... he believes the island is bad. I dont know. I just watched that episode last weekend but I dont remember. Something to do with the stick, baptising Claire and Aaron. I haven't gotten my Lost fix yet this weekend. Spent the day at the park and caught about 3min of "live together die alone" when we got back on CW.

I had a thought watching season 3 last night. Many people have tried to say that Annie is Charlotte. I have always disagreed with that. Annie would be Ben's age which is at least 36. That got me thinking who else could be Annie. What if Annie is Libby? The age is correct and I don't think Ben and Libby ever met.

Julie said...

I dont know about Libby being Annie but I do like the theory of John and Ben being brothers.

lost4ever said...

I know on the big island Libby's name has been thrown around as a possible link to many people, including her being Annie. There was also specualtion she may be a Widmore.

Not really sure how John and Ben could be brothers, unless Cooper impregnated Ben's mother before she died. I remember the discussions about that on the big island and the evidence STRONGLY suggested against this being a possibility. But it is LOST and who knows?

What kind of plane was Oceanic Flight 815?

Julie said...

What I had read... and I thought that I read it here.
Is possibly John being Ben's older brother. As in, his mother got pregnant as a teenager... couldnt deal... he was put up for adoption. Then later meets Ben's father, gets married, has a son (Ben) and dies. So I guess HALF brothers would be a better term than brothers.

Julie said...

Its a 777

lost4ever said...

Got it Julie, a Boeing 777.

Locke's mother visits him at the toy store and he later got a DNA test confirming that was his real mother. So I don't see how it is possible, but like I said, it is LOST and who knows.

PJSander said...

I remember questioning if John's mother Emily could be Ben's mother Emily. I certainly think due to casting that they could *IF* you leave out Swoozie Kurtz. Anthony Cooper was looking for John because he needed a kidney. He could have paid Swoozie's Emily to pretend to be Locke's mother and paid the investigator to say she was a DNA match.

I am not sure I can buy the Libby as Annie scenario. Annie and Ben were around the same age. I think it would be pushing it to say that Libby was the same age as Ben. Unless time travel is involved, or one ages well and the other doesn't!

I have always bought into the Libby as a possible Widmore because it is just SO odd that we have never been given her last name! If she KNOWS who her father is, she could have known about her daddy's sailing race and wanted to help Desmond win it.

: ) P

lost4ever said...

IF they come back and say that Cooper paid off the investigator, 4 seasons later that would be pretty lame.

Miss Kim said...

Hmmmmmmm. Maybe Ben is John's father. Possibly he can move freely through time like it appears Alpert can. Cooper may have just used John and his crazy mother to get a kidney. I think that we will be seeing some "fill in the blanks" footage in the coming seasons. We are thinking something happened a certain way because we have not heard/seen the whole story. When we have more information to complete the storylines we have been introduced to and given partial info about, things will make more sense. I don't think that it's gonna be really crazy like the Cooper paying the investigator thing, (see L4E above)but I think that there's a whole lotta story left to unfold. IF the island and at least some of its inhabitants can move through time (past, present, future)and IF the possibility of alternate timelines is on the table.....just about anything is possible.....

lost4ever said...

Up until this point, we have only seen Ben travel through time by turning the wheel. I assume Richard can, but this is just an assumption.
Has it ever really been comfirmed that Cooper is actually Locke's father? or was he just a conman out for a kidney?

Is it the nanny breaking her neck Julie?

Yes, your right L4E. Your turn.

No, I dont think that it has ever been 'confirmed' that Cooper is his father. I've often wondered about it. I mean he *IS* a con-man.

Locke and Ben could have the same mother if Swoozie was actually John's grandmother. The DNA would match and see seemed close to Coopers age. I always thought she acted weird when she saw Alpert in the nursery window.

Libby's last name would be her married name so instead of thinking of who her father is we should be thinking about who her husband was. David ________?

I agree, Libby's maiden name could be Widmore. If her name was on the manafest or anywhere else it would likely be her married name so that is the one I am wondering about.

PJSander said...

Hmmm. What happened to the manifest? If Hurley still had it, don't you think he would have checked it when the tailies showed up?

: ) P

Anonymous said...

Also wondering, again, since Hurley can see dead people and he sees Dave while in the hospital with Libby, Is Dave Libby's David?

lost4ever said...

LOL DocH. Maybe you can make a case to get it changed on Lostpedia. For now, I am sticking with the Boeing 777. That is part of the story of LOST. Maybe a fuselage from a real 777 was unavailable for the production. Not being able to fly out of gate 23 at Sydney sounds like bad research by the writers. But, I am sure when they started, they didn't think that every little detail would be over-analyzed. But those sound like production errors to me. AS for the one in the Sunda Trench, that is not flight 815. Are production errors included in the trivia game?

I guess the question I should have asked, if we are going to be nit-picky, is what type of plane are they flying on during the FB in the Pilot episodes?

lost4ever said...

CM- I speculated on that last year only to hear in a podcast that they were not the same.

lost4ever said...

Where's Hammer? The first episode with "whispers" is on sci-fi right now.

PJSander said...

Well I think that L4E got the "official" answer right, even though it is interesting to discover errors/omissions in the production!

So, L4E, your turn for a question.

: ) P

lost4ever said...

Actually it's Julie's question about Eddie Colbrun. She answered correctly about flight 815.

In "Further Instructions" Locke meets up with Eddie Colburn. Colburn turns out to be a Sheriff. For what county does he work?

Eddie - right, the "kid" that Locke picked up hitchhiking. NO clue what county.

Hey DocH, the LOL I get, but what does ESS stand for?

: ) P

lost4ever said...

TY for the info DocH. I did read past the first paragraph ( I actually read the pages dedicated to the 777 and the L-1011 ).
In your professional opinion, what type of plane is seen breaking apart overhead in "The Tale of Two Cities"?

Wondering what the ESS is also?
Can't find it on any computer dictionary.

TY DocH for confirming that the plane IS a 777. The wreckage used as props was not the question. The question I asked, which was confirmed by a professional, is what type of plane is flight 815. But I am sure we can argue some more. Friendly arguements are enjoyable.:)
ESS- Good one, I prefer Big Gay Al, "I'm super, thanks for asking".

PJSander said...

DocH said: Exciting twist? Others seeing another acft crash, or MASSIVE continuity error?

I am leaning toward continuity error, personally. Dh is an airplane nut, and picked it out immediately. Me - just a casual flyer, no IDEA that the planes weren't the same. I am guessing that for the pilot, the producers were just not expecting fans to be so detail oriented!

FWIW, Dh says that L4E's screenshot is either a 777 or 767, but his money is on a 767.

: ) P

PJSander said...

I also seem to remember that I read that INSIDE the plane is not configured as a B-777 OR an L-1011. Creative license I guess!

ps - Julie, I think we have to give up on the Eddie Colburn question! Please give us a new one?

Sorry DocH, I have to disagree with your point. But in the podcast following the episode, D and C confirmed that the others were watching the plane crash of flight 815. But I do like the thought process.

The plane in the Sunda was told to Michael, by Tom, that he had a pruchase order for a 777 from Widmore. But who knows about that?

Okay.. well the answer to the first question is:
Humbolt. He works for the Humbolt County Sheriffs department.

Great question, Julie.

Sadly, I have no idea!

The final "test" at DWY is up. But it isn't a test... it is a video. I won't say more until others have had a chance to see it, but I have to wonder what my "group" means because I believe that I fulfilled the requirements to pass that final test. At least the FIRST time I took each test.

Let me know what "group" you are all in for Test 7. I am "Black Swan" which I don't think bodes well for me.

: ) P

PJSander said...

Well I was right, Black Swan does NOT bode well for me. I re-registered and did all the tests again, and got White Swan, so I guess I must have done something "wrong" the first time.

: ) P

lost4ever said...

If that's it for DWY, I have to agree with those that said how lame it was.

Instead of DWY-Dharma Wants You

Should be DWYT-Disappointing Waste of Your Time.

lost4ever said...

Black Swan too PJ. I don't understand unless DocH was right about playing the games more than once. But they were games. I don't understand why that would be a knock on integrity or honesty. I could understand if it said try only once, but it didn't. Oh well, guess I'm not the Dharma nerd I wanted to be.:)

PJSander said...

Well the only thing that I can think of that I did wrong was that I played the bouncy pinball game several times before logging in. I know I used the cheat codes on that, but only AFTER I took it the first time under my log in.

December 15? They have GOT to be kidding. I hope they have stuff to keep us busy until then.

Okay here's the answer.
The song her music box plays is Intermezzo which no one probably knows but I'm sure if you heard it you would recognize it as Carmen which is the opera that it is from.
Secondly, this (according to Lostpedia but I'm not sure its true) is the ONLY time that we've seen Danielle smile through out the show. **I still think she may have smiled when she was reunited with Alex but I could be wrong** If I am wrong I find this INCREDIBLY interesting.

Okay give me a min to come up with another.

-L4E- So, you add me on MySpace and then dont say hi. :P

It is REALLY weird that there is nothing out there about Emilie de Ravin being pregnant or having a baby (other than speculation). Thanks for the Kimmel info. Did THEY speculate about it?

Looking up an answer is technically cheating, Julie, you're right. But you didn't GIVE the answer as if you had NOT looked it up, so really, it is more about abject curiosity rather than breaking any rules! That's my take anyway.

It was just bugging me. I have a knack for noticing random stuff. Names, background noise, etc. I'm a virtual textbook of useless information. (My friends find it hillarious!) Movies, music, gossip...? I got you! LOL!
But I didn't know this one. I have been watching that season and had just watched that epi like tues or wed night. I was thinking that Jack had said it in court but it's not Jack that says the persons name at all. I guess thats why I didnt remember.
So, since I had to bust out the DVD I'll let someone answer it. It was a great question! Cause I was just like, "huh????" LOL!
No, they didn't speculate about her being pregnant but they DID note that she was the only one who didn't take the shot.

Finally watched this week's Fringe. I am still on the fence. I love Pacey and Dunham, even Astrid and Walter, but I am not fully sold on the show or the premise. I am not giving up on it yet, though.

BUT, for some odd reason I looked inside my top and it says, "HANSO"
I literally said "WHAT THE ?" out loud. LOL!
They're everywhere I tell ya... everywhere! LOL!
Also, here is a general opinion question for everyone.
As I've mentioned before (I think) my ::cough jerk cough:: ex, for my birthday, got me the Lost: Pilot script signed by the cast. I was thinking about having it framed in a shadow box with a picture of th cast or something. Does that sound to retarded? I mean, is someone walking into my house seeing this going to be like, "HUH?" I mean, it's not like the script is pretty to look at. Well, not other than Josh Holloway's signature. ;)
So, opinions please????

lost4ever said...

I thought Jack said the name in the episode as he was trying to revive her. At least that's what the transcripts say. I cheated too! lol. Good question CM.

@ Julie
You don't have to bust out the DVD's for the answers. Try lostpedia.com. BTW, looking answers up on lostpedia is considered cheating in our little trivia game.:)
I would hang it on the wall. Nothing wrong with that. It sounds like a piece of memorabilia. Like a sports jersey.

@ PJ
Give up on Fringe? I thought last week's might have been the best one yet, but JMO. I was very skeptical after the Pilot, but not anymore. What was with the sandwich "the observer" ate?

@ DocH
Is there some link you can provide for the anagram. I might hate to see it, but the suspense is killing me.

LOL. Or maybe it's like the numbers and will never be explained. Part of the mystique.

Is the observer related to Richard Alpert? Sometime later in the show he trefuses food from Walter saying "You know I couldn't taste it anyway."

Julie, Hand the script on the wall. Anyone who is in your house is going to be your friend and our friends have to accept our strange obsessions don't they? We should surround ourselves with the things we love.

Maybe I'll send them pics of the "Lost birthday cake" Rob had made. It was complete with a beach, a broken up toy airplane, and omimous looking smoke monster. I can only imagine the conversation between my blockheaded ex and the girl at the cake counter. "Sir, a smoke monster""Yes, thats what I said. A smoke monster.""Sir, its a cake.""Yes. Yes, yes...the multiple possible meanings of Juliet asking Harper, "What are you doing here?"

I still think that's because Taller Ghost Walt is a Smokey manifestation. As discussed before, the island security system may have a few different parts that may work to the same goal.

Interesting thoughts on reincarnation, Buddhist style: (from A Basic Buddhism Guide)

Traditionally, Buddhism teaches the existence of the ten realms of being. At the top is Buddha and the scale descends as follows: Bodhisattva (an enlightened being destined to be a Buddha, but purposely remaining on earth to teach others), Pratyeka Buddha (a Buddha for himself), Sravka (direct disciple of Buddha), heavenly beings (superhuman [angels?]), human beings, Asura (fighting spirits), beasts, Preta (hungry ghosts), and depraved men (hellish beings).

Karma should not be confused with fate. Fate is the notion that man's life is preplanned for him by some external power, and he has no control over his destiny. Karma on the other hand, can be changed. Because man is a conscious being he can be aware of his karma and thus strive to change the course of events.

OK. So who's a Buddah? A Bodhisattva? Is Aaron a Sravka? Changing "Karma" probably doesn't have any paradoxes. How does CircusMom's train track theory play into this? And the whisperers?
