100 Days Out...
If we were on the island

While Jack was on the phone with the guy from the freighter, the previously-thought-dead Naomi wandered off. The rest of us headed back to the beach while Kate, Jack and Rousseau (with Ben in tow) went looking for Naomi.

But I nearly forgot the most exciting part! Hurley rescued the people at the beach! I guess that only two of the traps went off and Sayid, Jin and Bernard were taken captive by some of the others. Juliet and Sawyer doubled back to see if they could help, as did Hurley. Hurley saved the day! He ran that crazy old VW bus right over one of the Others and that gave Sayid the chance he needed to get the rest. Hooray for Hurley!

On the way back to the beach, we met up with everyone else. Funny how on this great big island, we all, every one of us, ended up in the same place - right near the wreckage of the cockpit. Jack wanted everyone to get to the beach to be rescued. Locke was still acting crazy saying that we needed to avoid the people on the freighter (if he could give us just ONE concrete reason WHY maybe I wouldn't think he was so crazy!). In the end, we split into two groups. One was going back to the barracks with Locke and the other was going to the beach with Jack.

The really sad news is that Charlie is dead. He drowned while making sure the rest of us would be rescued. We are all in shock.

Over the course of the next few days, a number of people "switched camps" (some several times). I don't have any idea WHY but I will tell you this, just HEARING Minkowski on the phone was enough to make me want to stay at the beach.

Actually, there are some people from the freighter among us now. Charlotte, a red-headed anthropologist who has a bit of an attitude and Daniel, who seems to be a very kind-hearted scientist - maybe a physicist of some kind. They keep to themselves and only seem to talk to Jack and a few others. That's fine, as long as their people show up, I am happy.

I think Christmas was a few days ago. No one seemed to care enough to talk about it - maybe because simple milestones like surviving the night are enough to celebrate.

The last few days have been very confusing - people coming and going from the beach. I thought I heard a helicopter fly overhead a couple of days ago and then Sayid came TO the island on a small motorboat! He was going to take people back to the freighter and then instead, took off into the jungle! Jin took a group of people out to the freighter and came back for more. I think I will be on the next boat. Oh I hope so!

Trivia question from the last thread:

Where (geographically speaking) was Frank when the faux plane was discovered?

He was somewhere in the Caribbean, wasn't he? I can't remember exactly...some little island travel agency looking place...? How's that for specific :)

That works for me, LINS! It was the Bahamas, specifically Eleuthra. Okay, your turn to ask a question!

Well DocH, if LINS doesn't return to ask a question by Saturday, will you please do so?

I like your theory about the Looking Glass, DocH. Interesting...

Hi everyone,

Long time lurker, but never posted on this Blog.
Something else has been bothering me about the Looking Glass, too. This may have been mentioned on the main island, but I don't think I've seen any comments on it. When Charlie was trying to figure out the code in the Looking Glass, one of the women said that the code was created by a musician. Could it have been Charlie in a different time line? At that time there was a lot of talk about can Charlie swim or not. Are we looking at different Charlies?

Hammer said...

Hello Foreverlost. I think there are going to be several Charlies because as we have discussed before...it looks like there are several time lines. The song was "Good Vibrations" by the Beach Boys...Charlie picked up quick...so maybe he was the person that set the code.

Welcome 4EL (not to be confused with L4E). There have been theories about different timelines (ie. different tracks) so a different Charlie talking to Hurley is a great thought. The different time tracks confuse me though, and my brain starts to hurt! LOL.

If you've been lurking long, though, you know that *I* think Charlie isn't really dead.

I actually had an additional theory about that. What if Charlie was rescued by someone on Ben's payroll... or Widmore's?

Less than a month, everyone!

I checked LOSTpedia and Canada was right, so I guess it is my turn for a question.

Keeping with the Canadian theme - Several characters claimed to be from Canada. Name one.

Thanks Doc, I was waiting for someone to commment on the logo.

Yeah, I thought we talked about this in the past...that Charlie said something like, 'I'm dead, but I'm also here'....making me think that he is dead in a certain time line and alive in another...making him a whisperer who has chosen to reveal himself.

Happy Holidays little island peeps. Between ice storms and snow storms I have had my fair share of small engines--generators and snowblowers and such. Hardly any time leftover for posting even when I actually had internet and power. Hopefully the weather settles down enough for me to wrap some gifts and relax a bit. Hoping you all have a wonderful holiday season. (Dear Santa, Please bring back LOST a little bit sooner!!!!!)

Kate told the farmer in Australia that she was from Canada too.

That was me.

DocH, CircusMom, you were both right. Nathan also said he was from Canada.

DocH, you were the first with a correct answer, so you are up!

Peaceful (belated) Eid Al-Adha
Happy (belated) Winter Solstice.
Happy Hanukkah
Merry Christmas
Joyful Kwanzaa
(whatever you might celebrate, may it be filled with peace, joy and love)
And peace to you all for 2009.

Okay, process of elimination. Desmond was on the beach and presumably would have met Charlotte and Daniel. Desmond was on the helicopter with Frank (I am guessing he is part of the Freighter Four science team, yes?). So that would leave Miles.

I watched the final two hours of the season with commentary last night. There were some hints at next season. We have not seen the last of Desmond or Penny, FYI.

I just checked and I was correct... keeping on the Miles theme. Of the Oceanic Six, whom has he not met?

Hammer is correct.

I guess Desmond and Penny being seen in the future might be considered a spoiler, sorry! Desmond is in the poster, I think, so I didn't really think it was "news" at all.

My thoughts on untapped potential: Daniel, Charlotte and Hurley.

Followed by Miles, Sun and Juliet.

I predicted a couple of seasons ago (I think) that the story is about Des and Penny ( I still got dibs on them being Adam and Eve.) I think they have may have backstory potential esp. since Widmore is Penn's pop and also set up Des. Just a hunch.

Otherwise, Walt's powers have not been fully explored, Locke's connection to the island and Capt. Eyeliner has some explanin' to do too.

My question: In an FF, Jack stepped on a toy of Aaron's. What was the toy.

Hint: My logo.

Didn't Jack step on the melinum falcoln?

Merry Christmas everyone!

Got season 4 for christmas and watched the first few epis. Have a continuation of the train (multi time line) theory.

Circus dork asked me why the other guy in the nut house with Hurley could see Charlie. The answer came quick and simple. People who are instatutionalized are usually put there because they don't have a tight grasp on "reality". My theory is that because they arn't tied into our reality they can see inot other realities (time lines). Hurley is not that out of it so when he closed his eyes and concentraites he can return to the "real world) like he does with Charlie and with the cabin. This would mean that Dave is also dead in the real time line.

I still wonder if Dave is Libby's dead husband?

Oooh... interesting theory! I like it!

I think your theory about the timelines and "crazy folk" is interesting, even if I don't like it because it means that Charlie is dead (in SOME time line). LOL.

Merry Christmas!

Hammer said...

You are correct. He stepped on the Aluminum Falcon. :)

The Season 4 DVD's special features includes a run-down of all the flash-forwards in chronological order. I made notes, so if anyone hasn't see it and would like to know the order of they happened, let me know.

Circus Mom, you're up!

What is Hurley's fathers name?

PJSander said...

Aw crud. I know that Grampa was Tito and Mama was Carmen. I know that Cheech Marin portrays him - but I can't think of the character's name! Shucks!

D&C just released another mini-video and following it is an ad for Ajira Airways. The site is teeming with easter eggs, not that I can necessarily figure any out!

His name is David. I remeber it because I have cousin named David that lived in SoCal and his accent sounds the same as Cheech's. LOL.

Hammer, you're up.

Happy New Year everyone!!!

lost4ever said...

Dave is not Libbby's dead husband Dave. D and C stated that in a podcast.

I think Faraday and Charlotte will play much bigger roles as PJ said. But I also think Miles is just as important.

PJSander said...

L4E! Long time no see. I was about to send up a flare for you! LOL.

Now that you say that, I seem to remember Dave & Libby being brought up before and that D&C nixed the idea. Thank you for reminding us! Sometimes we all mull over these ideas so many times that we forget what we have discussed !

I agree that Miles will be important as well. I don't know why, but I feel like we'll see HIS full impact in Season 6. Just one of those crazy hunches! LOL.

THREE WEEKS FROM TOMORROW EVERYONE!
